Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata ─ one of my personal favorite piano pieces (not that I can play it) ─ is indeed an excellent piece to play before an elephant.

By the way, did you notice the sudden reaction of the elephant when the chord changes from having a major third to a minor third at around 00:50? Also, the elephant turns toward the pianist at around 03:04 because of the prolonged descent down the scale without that any bass notes are being played ─ elephants are very sensitive to low frequencies and rhythm, and that descending run breaks the rhythm by omitting the bass line.

I am either way convinced that the animal both appreciated and enjoyed the piece. The way it responded to certain passages and transitions ─ e.g. the insertion of diminished chords ─ says it all, and elephants are after all one of the most intelligent species on Earth.

These videos make me think that one of the reasons humans are here on earth is to make music.

I love the way that you interpreted the Elephant's responses. Yes, it is very intelligent and love-driven...i.e. the hug at the end.

I can't believe that anyone would be crazy enough to keep a pet tiger. Bengal ... those suckers are BIG.

The owner was out on bond on a murder charge.

Wait, what? I hope it wasn't murder by 'tiger's dinner'.

And he didn't own the house. Oh dear. Someone's in big trouble.

I think it is insane ... hell, my kitty cat is a monster when he gets mad ... I can still take him, though, but a Bengal, not likely. If i saw that in my neighborhood would I go outside ... double extreme hell no.

Dave! Get next to it for perspective!

    Ahhhhhhhhhh!

My brother had a lizard go for a ride on a golf cart. It was hanging off the roof. Eventually they put it on the fairway. When they drove off, it ran after them. It missed its new buddies.

Contrary to popular belief ─ especially within this so-called alternative community ─ reptiles can feel and show affection, and some of them are quite playful and/or social.
