In Finnish kamala means terrible, which pretty much sums up the choice and Biden's whole campaign.

His whole Trump card is that he is not Trump (pun intended).

    Joking

Someone wrote a very intelligent article over at Project Avalon. It's extremely well-written, and very insightful. We should invite that guy to become a member here.

Talking heads are asking if Biden and Harris are too liberal for mainstream America ... huh? what!?

Harris has spent most of her career associated with law enforcement. In what world is that liberal? Furthermore, she is a beeyotch. In the mold of most prominent females in the Democratic party (Hillary Clinton), she is a Democrat because she had nowhere else to go.

"Forget about the purveyors of so-called "inclusive language" and "political correctness". That has nothing to do with being progressive, but all the more with neuroticism, social anxiety and repressed self-acceptance issues. Take it from me ─ and I'm a progressive guy, remember? Besides, the most lucrative career choice one could make in the US apart from becoming a lawyer is becoming a psychiatrist, and there's a reason for that, namely the cognitive dissonance between what US society is being portrayed as in the US media, and what it really is: the land of make-believe."

Perhaps, we should. Libertarians are assh*les, all about themselves ... if it fits them, then good ... sounds a lot like the average Republican. I missed the insight in all honesty, he, with sincere knowledge spouts the alt-right perspective. In effect, his words say this, "Yes, I pretend to be a liberal but I'm not...I hope everyone sees that I want to be accepted here, because I so agree with your philosophy that liberalism sucks peepees."

    Can Biden beat Trump:
    https://fivethirtyeight.com/features...unt-trump-out/

Joe Biden currently has a robust lead in polls. If the election were held today, he might even win in a landslide, carrying not only traditional swing states such as Florida and Pennsylvania but potentially adding new states such as Georgia and Texas to the Democratic coalition.

But the election is not being held today. While the polls have been stable so far this year, it’s still only August. The debates and the conventions have yet to occur. Biden only named his running mate yesterday. And the campaign is being conducted amidst a pandemic the likes of which the United States has not seen in more than 100 years, which is also causing an unprecedented and volatile economy.

Nor has it been that uncommon, historically, for polls to shift fairly radically from mid-August until Election Day. Furthermore, there are some reasons to think the election will tighten, and President Trump is likely to have an advantage in a close election because of the Electoral College.

One last parallel to 2016 — when some models gave Clinton as high as a 99 percent chance of winning — is that FiveThirtyEight’s forecast tends to be more conservative than others. (For a more complete description of our model, including how it is handling some complications related to COVID-19, please see our methodology guide.)

With that said, one shouldn’t get too carried away with the comparisons to four years ago. In 2016, the reason Trump had a pretty decent chance in our final forecast was mostly just because the polls were fairly close (despite the media narrative to the contrary), close enough that even a modest-sized polling error in the right group of states could be enough to give Trump a victory in the Electoral College.

That, in a nutshell, is why the FiveThirtyEight presidential election forecast, which we launched today, still has Trump with a 29 percent chance of winning the Electoral College, despite his current deficit in the polls. This is considerably higher than some other forecasts, which put Trump’s chances at around 10 percent. Biden’s chances are 71 percent in the FiveThirtyEight forecast, conversely.

The uncertainty in our current 2020 forecast, conversely, stems mostly from the fact that there’s still a long way to go until the election. Take what happens if we lie to our model and tell it that the election is going to be held today. It spits out that Biden has a 93 percent chance of winning. In other words, a Trump victory would require a much bigger polling error than what we saw in 2016.

Just goes to show how prejudiced you are, NotAPretender, and how wedlocked to the US Democratic Party.

lol, oh shit ... sorry Frank V ... I just noticed that they were an Administrator sorta out of the corner of my eye. C'mon Frank, you're not a libertarian... you're too good hearted to be that selfish and 'angry'.

I've actually been using my brain the last week or two ... my brain ain't used to it.

If I had noticed that was you, I certainly wouldn't have questioned the sincerity of the post ... coming from you, that would be genuine.

    Full apology, man ...

Yes, over at Project Avalon, I am Frank V. And I am a libertarian, but not by the US definition of libertarianism. I could just as easily have said that I'm an anarchist, but most people misinterpret the concept of anarchism just the same as they misinterpret socialism ─ or for that matter, even fascism, which is why most Americans don't even realize that they are effectively living in a fascist society.

I am a libertarian because I feel that no one should have the right ─ legal or otherwise ─ to rule over their fellow human beings of sound mind. I am a proponent of a well-informed population and a rule by consensus, rather than by an elite. And I am left-wing because I believe that equity is the only justifiable political system, and that this planet belongs to all of us, not just to those who have the financial means and/or the influence to secure a comfortable or even decadently luxurious existence for themselves at the cost and slave labor of their fellow human beings.

I also resent the social justice warriors who are trying to make us feel guilty about using the perfectly abstract words "blacklist" and "whitelist", or the technical terms "master" and "slave". I am open to the replacement of those words by "denylist" and "allowlist", and "controller" and "follower", but I have no Freudian connotations about slavery in the USA with the original words, since ─ as I said already ─ they are abstract technical concepts, and I'm not a US American, notwithstanding the brutal colonial past of the country I reside in.

Trump signed a historic deal with UAE to normalize relations. This means that we will now trade ambassadors like never before:

The Embassy of the United States, Abu Dhabi is a United States diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. John Rakolta Jr. is the current United States Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates. There is also a US Consulate-General in Dubai. (For many years)... I worked on their military weapons that we traded. I attended at least one great party with them 20 years ago.
