I love his voice Aragorn! Really good it is.

    Here's my suggestion:

I'm going to suggest that the listener of this pretends that her voice is an electric guitar, and that you in your mind add the drums etc. Just listen to these beautiful tones that R Strauss made…the Four Last Songs. If you have the ear to hear….hear this is. Unadulterated beauty by Jessye Norman.

Sølvguttene Guttekor Oslo 1996 Part I - Panis Angelicus/Pié Jesu

My nephew, Ludvig (third from left front row with glasses) was singing in this famous choir from Norway. He used to sing this one Solo, but not on this video.

He called me up on the phone one day, saying: "Auntie, I've been singing with Kiri Te Kanawa and she patted me on the head!" Well he knew that I've been listening a lot to to KTK, singing Mozart. Now he's happily married to a lovely girl, and he's very handsome.

Amazingly creative street musician in London

If you don't have a guitar...MAKE ONE, use anything, as long as it makes the sound you like.

    Smile

I don't think I've ever posted this here on the public forum before — and I apologize if I already have — but this is just too hilarious not to share. It has me laughing in tears every time I watch this.

The video below is a review by Rob "Chappers" Chapman and Lee "The Captain" Anderton of the Korg Miku effect for guitars. It's supposed to convert the guitar sound into the voice of Miku, a virtual Japanese singer who is actually immensely popular in Japan. She even does "live performances" — complete with 3D projections.

Anyway, enjoy, and try not to succumb to gravity while you're watching this.

Elen is apparently speechless. Designing a new pedal?

The Stairway to Heaven part makes it worth it.

    Is that Pepe in disguise?

That is some good stuff, Aragorn. Thanks. You did post another video by these two, can't recall what the review was. They are funny.

I think I may have posted this video before in the mod room once.

Rob Chapman is a British singer/songwriter/guitarist of Dutch origins — I'm not sure but I think he lived in the Netherlands as a young boy — who has his own progressive metal band called Dorje, and he also used to have a side project going on with his Maltese wife Natassja, very similar in sound and style to Evanescence. But as of this year, they have a baby, so that side project has now probably moved to the back burner.

Lee Anderton is the current owner of Anderton's Music Store in Guildford, and the grandson of the original founder of that music store. Together with Rob Chapman and a third guy called Matt Hornby, they've created and are currently still running Chapman Guitars, which also employs the other members of Rob's band. And of those other members, guitarist Rabea Massaad also works for Anderton's.

Chapman Guitars produces reasonably priced but very well made no-frills electric guitars and basses, which are built in South Korea, at the same factory as where many of the ESP/Ltd, Ibanez, Fernandez and Schecter guitars are currently built. The guitars are shipped directly from the factory in Korea to various retail shops all over the world without using any importers/distributors, which allows them to cut a significant amount out of the retail price.

When you see either of them alone, then they are both fairly serious guys. Especially so Lee, because Rob is a bit hyper — he calls himself "Monkey Lord" for a reason — but if you put the two of them in the same room together, things get absolutely crazy.

Sarah Brightman - Lascia Ch'io Pianga

Handel wrote this piece of music in 1705, and it is still considered one of the most beautiful songs ever. What a genius. The original melody for the aria is first found in Act III of Handel's 1705 opera Almira as a Sarabande.

Personally I think the best recording I've heard is made by Sarah Brightman, who is not an opera singer, but more contemporary. If you ignore the "Fluffed up pictures" it's just wonderful, I could listen to this just staring at a brick wall...and still appreciate it! Enjoy...whoever is open to classical stuff.
