CNN finanlly transmitted a bit of information the other day:

    http://www.cnn.com/2016/11/23/us/nor...eline-conflict

Watch at the 1:50 mark, when they show the "improvised" weapons they had to support the idea of how "riotous" the protesters are...the third one is an effing towel!! The other two are a rock and an old propane tank for a camp cooking stove. Those are the three images that they provided to show how violent the protest from the water protector side.

If the media is involved in a psyop, it's to show how tragic it that we need to use asymmetric warfare against our "authorities" to get a voice or any political or public consideration for our concerns. They can't show how any real violence or the typical emotional immaturity that goes along with the protesters, because any that actually is there is PALED by the aggressive heavily armed ARMY of law enforcement they are standing up to

ADDED: this is the link I meant to attach, a 7:50 video clip off the teevee, if anyone can get a non-FB link of the story that would be awesome, I cant find it on the web--maybe it's IN the link above but I haven't read it yet, i thought it was this:

    Question

    Hmm ...

"The Dakota Access pipeline uses a nearly identical route as the natural gas pipeline to cross Lake Oahe near the Standing Rock reservation. The company did consider — but did not propose — deviating from the natural gas route, through a crossing of the Missouri River north of Bismarck, and about 50 miles upstream of the current location. But the Corps said in an environmental review that the crossing wasn't viable since it was more than 10 miles longer and required crossing more water, wetlands and real estate, and posed a potential threat to Bismarck's water supply."

The bottom line in my opinion ...

So the mostly white population of Bismarck, ND (a racial makeup of the city was 92.4% White, 0.7% African American, 4.5% Native American, 0.6% Asian, 0.3% from other races, and 1.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.3% of the population) was considered and obviously seriously neglected ... Which indicates to me that this chosen Standing Rock reservation (alternative) route - Is most probably politically motivated in a deep seated racist disregard.

Connecting to the internet in Standing Rock is a difficult task. Most people have been using cellular data from a single hill, named “Facebook Hill”, in the west of camp. Unfortunately, the signal has been weak and is suspected of being interfered with by unknown parties. If there is a real need for wifi, people head to the casino 10 minutes south by car.
Dammit iPhone cut-and-paste...could a mod kindly replace my crap with the text of the article if you get a chance? Thanks!

...when we were out there, William said the helicopter came near our tent and his laptop was turned on. I guess he could be lying but his battery was nearly drained when he showed me and with no wifi I can't imagine what he did with 88% of the juice, I guess he coulda had a solitaire marathon and was just f*ckin with me

Also my "cookies" were all gone when I left camp from my iPhone, which is strange timing on that as it hadn't happened to me before ever.

I personally thought (camp) security should have encouraged people to leave their smartphones in their tents or cars unless they were dileberately using them to transmit. I felt self conscious knowing whenever I forgot to do that how everything going on around was probably going to straight to the (pipe) security...but then again Standing in truth, I wasn't worried since nothing was going on but peaceful prayer and overt action to try to stop work...no one there I met had anything to hide

    Question

    Another interesting tidbit ...

Obviously Ace is not the place with the helpful hardware folks ...

Ace Hardware releases statement on refusing supplies to Standing Rock protesters
    From Tom Cahill | December 1, 2016

Ace Hardware’s corporate headquarters just responded to claims that its franchisees are allegedly refusing to sell supplies to Standing Rock protesters.

On Wednesday, the news that law enforcement agencies in North Dakota were asking Ace Hardware stores in the vicinity of the ongoing indigenous resistance to the Dakota Access Pipeline to not sell critical supplies to protesters went viral after a tweet from musician Neko Case.

This instantly prompted a boycott campaign of the hardware store chain, which journalist Joe Catron argued couldn’t have come at a worse time during the height of the holiday shopping season.

The more I look at the messages we are now receiving (versus the virtual silence that originally hooked me), the more I can't understand what purpose the "thinking" people imagine the Stand a contrived event to serve our masters' grand plan actually is?

Blufire- do you think the whole thing was staged from the gate, created by provacteurs? What purpose do you feel it was actually created for?

Thousands brave winter weather to demonstrate solidarity at Standing Rock

"Thousands of activists, self-proclaimed 'water protectors', along with U.S. military veterans, braved the low temperatures at the Oceti Sakowin Camp on Thursday to participate in the Global Day of Action to stop the North Dakota Pipeline."

CORPORATE versus CORPORAL (and is the corporation not the perfect body for the hacked (matrix overlay artificial) "reality"?
EVIL's reverse of LIFE. Water is Life. Oil is death?
But "we" THINK (we need oil) in an evil way that is for death? If we think we need oil, we die?
Is that the end game psyop?
    We are persuaded to suicide?
BUT there has to be the choice?
AND HOWEVER!!! Russell Means said that all of us in America are "The Indians" and John Trudeau said that WE are ENERGY.

When one hears "We are all the Indians", in the face of Corporacratic tryanny do we feel powerless......OR WE know we are ENERGY, POWER itself.

    How much POWER is needed?
One wonders how much POWER is enough but maybe there is something about this QUANTITATIVE measure that misses the point?
What is THE QUALITY of POWER that John Trudeau references and is that possibly OVERFLOWING already at Standing Rock?
What is the spiritual perspective of power?

Is the Standing Rock event a paradox?
I think it MIGHT be absolutely demonstrating the essence of paradox.
What that means to me is that no matter what we try to make it, it will have its opposite side of coinage to flip.

This IS off topic but putting it here anyway because it has some pithiness to chew on.

A historic gathering is taking place against the Dakota Access pipeline at Standing Rock. Thousands of people, and around 300 Native nations, have gathered to stop Big Oil’s pipeline, which threatens sacred Native grounds and the environment.

To give an eyewitness account of this growing movement, as well as essential historical context, Abby Martin interviews legendary Native leader Dennis Banks. Banks is a founder of of the American Indian Movement (AIM), a leader in the 1973 Wounded Knee standoff and many other actions over five decades.

People of Faith: Call to Standing Rock
    From Chief Arvol Looking Horse,
19th Generation Keeper of White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle

Pray with Us on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Oceti Sakowin Camp
“The hearts of all people’s faiths must now unite in believing we can change the path we are now on. We, from heart of Turtle Island, have a great message for the world to unite for our children’s future. Already we have witnessed many nations of life are now dying because of contamination: those that swim, those that crawl, those that fly, the plant nation, the four legged, and now the two legged.

We are asking the religious people to come and support our youth, to stand side by side with them, because they are standing in prayer. If you can find it in your heart, pray with them and stand beside them. The police department and national guard would listen to each and every one of you.

This is a very serious time we are in. I know in my heart there are millions of people that feel this is long overdue. It is time that all of us become leaders to help protect the sacred upon Mother Earth. She is the source of life and not a resource.

In a Sacred Hoop of Life, where there is no ending and no beginning.”
Important Message from Keeper of Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe
    Chief Arvol Looking Horse
    8/26/16

I, Chief Arvol Looking Horse, of the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota Nations, ask you to understand an Indigenous perspective on what has happened in America, what we call "Turtle Island." My words seek to unite the global community through a message from our sacred ceremonies to unite spiritually, each in our own ways of beliefs in the Creator.

We have been warned from ancient prophecies of these times we live in today, but have also been given a very important message about a solution to turn these terrible times.

To understand the depth of this message you must recognize the importance of Sacred Sites and realize the interconnectedness of what is happening today, in reflection of the continued massacres that are occurring on other lands and our own Americas.

I have been learning about these important issues since the age of 12 when I received the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle and its teachings. Our people have strived to protect Sacred Sites from the beginning of time. These places have been violated for centuries and have brought us to the predicament that we are in at the global level.

Look around you. Our Mother Earth is very ill from these violations, and we are on the brink of destroying the possibility of a healthy and nurturing survival for generations to come, our children's children.

Our ancestors have been trying to protect our Sacred Site called the Sacred Black Hills in South Dakota, "Heart of Everything That Is," from continued violations. Our ancestors never saw a satellite view of this site, but now that those pictures are available, we see that it is in the shape of a heart and, when fast-forwarded, it looks like a heart pumping.

The Diné have been protecting Big Mountain, calling it the liver of the earth, and we are suffering and going to suffer more from the extraction of the coal there and the poisoning processes used in doing so.

The Aborigines have warned of the contaminating effects of global warming on the Coral Reefs, which they see as Mother Earth's blood purifier.

The indigenous people of the rainforest say that the rainforests are the lungs of the planet and need protection.

The Gwich'in Nation in Alaska has had to face oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge coastal plain, also known to the Gwich'in as "Where life begins."

The coastal plain is the birthplace of many life forms of the animal nations. The death of these animal nations will destroy indigenous nations in this territory.

As these destructive developments continue all over the world, we will witness many more extinct animal, plant, and human nations, because of mankind's misuse of power and their lack of understanding of the "balance of life."

The Indigenous people warn that these destructive developments will cause havoc globally. There are many, many more indigenous teachings and knowledge about Mother Earth's Sacred Sites, her chakras, and connections to our spirit that will surely affect our future generations.

There needs to be a fast move toward other forms of energy that are safe for all nations upon Mother Earth. We need to understand the types of minds that are continuing to destroy the spirit of our whole global community. Unless we do this, the powers of destruction will overwhelm us.

Our Ancestors foretold that water would someday be for sale. Back then this was hard to believe, since the water was so plentiful, so pure, and so full of energy, nutrition and spirit. Today we have to buy pure water, and even then the nutritional minerals have been taken out; it's just empty liquid. Someday water will be like gold, too expensive to afford.

Not everyone will have the right to drink safe water. We fail to appreciate and honor our Sacred Sites, ripping out the minerals and gifts that lay underneath them as if Mother Earth were simply a resource, instead of the source of life itself.

Attacking nations and using more resources to carry out destruction in the name of peace is not the answer! We need to understand how all these decisions affect the global nation; we will not be immune to its repercussions. Allowing continual contamination of our food and land is affecting the way we think.

A "disease of the mind" has set in world leaders and many members of our global community, with their belief that a solution of retaliation and destruction of peoples will bring peace.

In our prophecies it is told that we are now at the crossroads: Either unite spiritually as a global nation, or be faced with chaos, disasters, diseases, and tears from our relatives' eyes.

We are the only species that is destroying the source of life, meaning Mother Earth, in the name of power, mineral resources, and ownership of land. Using chemicals and methods of warfare that are doing irreversible damage, as Mother Earth is becoming tired and cannot sustain any more impacts of war.

I ask you to join me on this endeavor. Our vision is for the peoples of all continents, regardless of their beliefs in the Creator, to come together as one at their Sacred Sites to pray and meditate and commune with one another, thus promoting an energy shift to heal our Mother Earth and achieve a universal consciousness toward attaining Peace.

As each day passes, I ask all nations to begin a global effort, and remember to give thanks for the sacred food that has been gifted to us by our Mother Earth, so the nutritional energy of medicine can be guided to heal our minds and spirits.

This new millennium will usher in an age of harmony or it will bring the end of life as we know it. Starvation, war, and toxic waste have been the hallmark of the great myth of progress and development that ruled the last millennium.

To us, as caretakers of the heart of Mother Earth, falls the responsibility of turning back the powers of destruction. You yourself are the one who must decide.

You alone – and only you – can make this crucial choice, to walk in honor or to dishonor your relatives. On your decision depends the fate of the entire World.

Each of us is put here in this time and this place to personally decide the future of humankind.

Did you think the Creator would create unnecessary people in a time of such terrible danger?

Know that you yourself are essential to this world. Understand both the blessing and the burden of that. You yourself are desperately needed to save the soul of this world. Did you think you were put here for something less? In a Sacred Hoop of Life, there is no beginning and no ending.

Between 2,000 and 3,000 members of interfaith religious groups from across the country are expected to converge in North Dakota Sunday at the site where protesters are trying to stop a pipeline that they say will threaten water resources and Native American sacred sites.

The representatives of United Religions Initiative, a nonprofit based in San Francisco, will take part in an Interfaith Day of Prayer at the Oceti Sakowin Camp, where members of the Standing Rock Sioux and their supporters have been trying to block a segment of the 1,200-mile Dakota Access Pipeline from threatening their land.

Chief Arvol Looking Horse, a representative of the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota nations and a member of URI, Rev. Victor Kazanjian, URI executive director, and Rev. Karen Van Fossan of the Bismarck-Mandan Unitarian Universalist Congregation, in Bismarck, N.D., will lead the events that will start off with a sunrise ceremony and continue with interfaith prayers, a community lunch and group discussions, said Isabelle Ortega, URI director of communications.

"This is really what our peace-building efforts around the world are all about -- it’s casting aside differences, seeing diversity as a strength," Ortega said. "In the case of Standing Rock, different tribes that have been enemies for so long recognize there is an issue bigger than them."

URI also has gathered prayers from supporters around the world and some of them will be read on Sunday, she said.

"This day of prayer is specifically focused on our common concern for the environment and protecting our precious planet and water, which is one of the issues that binds together the world's spiritual traditions," Kazanjian said.

The standoff has dragged on for months and drawn questions regarding violence by law enforcement against the protesters and what many see as a lack of media coverage of the dispute.

On Sunday, 2,000 veterans also are expected to join the protests at Standing Rock in an effort to give a break to those who have been protesting for months.http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2...nday/94839132/

FAA Reverses Course, Grants Drone Journalist Permission To Fly in No-Fly Zone Over Standing Rock

    John Goglia , CONTRIBUTOR
I write about the airline industry and aviation safety.
Opinions expressed by Forbes Contributors are their own.

In a dramatic reversal of its prior refusal to allow drone journalists in the no-fly zone over the Standing Rock protests in North Dakota, the FAA has granted drone photographer Robert Levine of Minneapolis, Minnesota a three-day waiver to fly in the so-called TFR or temporary flight restriction zone. The waiver, issued on December 1 authorizes Mr. Levine to fly within a half mile radius of a specific point - defined by latitude and longitude - over Standing Rock during daylight hours from 7:00 am CST on December 4 to 5 pm CST on December 7. The waiver requires him to operate below 400 feet above ground level and states "nighttime flight operations, beyond visual line of sight flight operations and unsafe flight operations are strictly prohibited." Mr. Levine is required to contact the North Dakota Tactical Operation Center and Air Traffic Control before and after each flight.

Mr. Levine holds a so-called Part 107 certificate - an FAA pilot certificate authorizing him to fly small unmanned aircraft. The FAA began issuing these licenses this past fall when the new commercial drone rules went into effect. Mr. Levine is a long-time freelance photographer in Minneapolis doing mainly editorial and commercial photography. He was on the staff of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune for several years in the 1980s. He began flying drones this past September.

Mr. Levine is heading to Bismarck, North Dakota tomorrow and on to Standing Rock the following morning.FAA Reverses Course, Grants Drone Journalist Permission To Fly in No-Fly Zone Over Standing Rock

Here is another strong article stating the obvious. Reiteration is so important.

This "Protection effort" isn't about just ONE thing.
It is about un-necessary risk to water.
It is about continued oppression of people by corporate ignorance.
It is about HUMAN "Inter-faith", inter-nation solidarity.
It is about HOW do we stand peaceful in the face of violence and refuse to pass "it" on?
It is about the predictions that COULD be that we have real change.

IMO this is really really validating that there is a choice and that gathering energy is revealing the WAY. What IF this particular pipeline and the shared consciousness around the protection effort does represent a particularly significant timeline juncture? I think paying attention to this as it unfolds is uplifting and energizing and the ELDERS are My elders also. The descendants in 7 generations are MY descendants. I may only have a drop or two of Crow blood but I agree with the idea that it isn't the byways of wandering that determine "who is a member of the tribe", it is the gathering again.

Wouldn't it be WONDERFUL to actually manifest the landing site of the "longing for home" many of us feel HERE? Many of us have been longing to KNOW who we are and share a home and share being family and have a way of life that WORKS. I am holding out that this is a BIG sign post leading there.

Just me writing on the Ethers here....

Pipelines leak. It’s what they do. And the Dakota Access pipeline will be no exception.

The 1,168 mile-long pipeline is intended to transport crude oil from the Bakken oil fields in North Dakota to Patoka, Illinois, passing through South Dakota and Iowa. From there, it will connect with another pipeline to transfer oil to terminals and refineries along the Gulf of México.

However, its construction has hit a snag in Standing Rock, North Dakota. Since September the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and allies from around the world have been pushing hard to prevent the pipeline from cutting through the reservation.

The water protectors maintain--under enormous pressure from the government—that construction of the pipeline must be halted immediately to protect the waters of the Missouri River and “the very survival” of the tribe.

The pipeline will cross under the Missouri River, the longest river in the United States and the sole water source of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.

Pipeline ruptures happen all the time. It’s a fact. An excavator might dig in the wrong place. The pipeline might start leaking due to corrosion. It might even even explode due to poor operation.

Pipeline explosions in 2016 show why the #NoDAPL fight is still going strong:
According to the Center for Biological Diversity, over the last 27 years there have been close to 8,000 oil spills in the United States alone. That’s “nearly 300 per year on average.”

If the DAPL were to follow this environmentally destructive trend, there would be far reaching consequences for the Standing Rock Sioux and potentially millions of other Americans.

Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster said it best: “The River provides drinking water for communities, cooling water for power plants, and a low-cost highway for goods and agricultural products.”

Contaminated water from North Dakota has the potential to hit twelve states, all the way to Louisiana, wreaking havoc across America’s heartland.

The negative impact of the DAPL has already started. There are claims that the Army Corps of Engineers--the government body that approved the project-- cut corners by failing to consult with the tribe before letting the pipeline developers, Energy Transfer Partners, proceed with construction. A failed lawsuit in early September argued that, in doing so, the Corps violated the Clean Water Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). In his ruling, U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg defended the Corps, saying that it “has likely complied with the NHPA”, and that “the Tribe has not shown it will suffer injury that would be prevented by any injunction the Court could issue.”

Then there's even more concern surrounding the quality of construction. Standing Rock Sioux tribal chair, Dave Archambault II, recently pointed out that the company has been “[…] rushing to get the pipeline in the ground" in order to meet a looming deadline.

According to a report last month by The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis and Sightline Institute, Energy Transfer Partners conceded in court that it has a contractual obligation to start delivering oil by Jan. 1, 2017. "If it misses this deadline, companies that have committed long-term to ship oil through the pipeline at 2014 prices have the right to rescind those commitments," the report states.

Energy Transfer Partners told APTN that this deadline is no longer valid, however, the damage may already be done.

Joye Braun from the Indigenous Environmental Network commented from Standing Rock, “We know […] from their own pipeline welders that we spoke to […] that they’re moving along so fast that they’re not even welding correctly. So, we know this pipeline is going to break.”

The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe also contests the pipeline because it threatens culturally, spiritually, and environmentally significant areas on the reservation. Some of these areas have already been cleared by the company.

One of those cleared sites was a large stone feature depicting the Big Dipper constellation (“Iyokaptan Tanka”). According to Tim Mentz Sr., the tribe's former historic preservation officer, the area was the final resting place of an historical figure.

Faith Spotted Eagle, who lives on the Yankton Sioux Reservation of South Dakota, frames the pipeline construction in this manner: What if the Great Sioux Nation decided to build a project through Arlington Cemetery?

But Energy Transfer Partners insists that they are “not destroying [any] important historical sites.” How Energy Transfer Partners, led by billionaire CEO Kelcy Warren, determines “importance” is ambiguous, though they clearly do not rely on the testimony of indigenous peoples.

The heart of the struggle, however, is Water.

For native nations, water is much more than a physical necessity. It is also a cultural concern. That is why those who are mobilizing at Standing Rock insist they are not protesters but protectors who are standing up in defense of water. The say water is considered sacred--the “first medicine—which holds the ability to heal, clean, sustain and purify. According to Sioux lore, water has memory, and can hold onto what it hears and later share what it learns.

When the Dakota Access Pipeline finally ruptures, its impact will span both hundreds of miles and hundreds of years. Not only is the drinking water of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and those downriver placed at risk, but the very fabric of their culture, and therefore of the broader hemispheric culture, will be subject to irreparable harm.

Standing Rock: A Change of Heart

I am told by Native American friends active at Standing Rock that the elders are counseling the Water Protectors to undertake each action prayerfully and to stay off the warpath.

I would like to explain why this advice is not only spiritually sound, but politically astute as well. I would like to translate it into a strategic compass for anyone who is going to Standing Rock or supporting the Water Protectors from afar. I also want to explain how it contains a recipe for the kind of miracles that we need for the healing of our planet.

Let me explain what I mean here by a miracle. A miracle is a kind of a gift, an occurrence that is beyond our capacity to make happen. It is something beyond the normal rules of cause and effect as we have understood them. These include the rules of political and economic power that determine what is practical and “realistic.”

The halting of the Dakota Access Pipeline would be miraculous simply because of the array of powerful ruling interests that are committed to building it. Not only has Energy Transfer Partners (ETP) already spent hundreds of millions of dollars on the pipeline, but a who’s-who of global banks has committed over $10 billion in lines of credit to ETP and other involved entities. Those banks, many of whom are facing financial stress of their own, are counting on the profits from the loans at a time when credit-worthy capital investments are hard to come by. Finally, the United States government has (in its estimation) a geopolitical interest in increasing domestic oil production to reduce the economic power of Russia and the Middle East. To hope to halt the pipeline in the face of such powers is in a certain sense unrealistic.

Since when has a Native American people successfully thwarted large-scale plans of mining, energy, or agricultural interests? The usual pattern has been one land grab after another in which resistance is at best futile and at worst suicidal. But at Standing Rock, something different is possible. It is not because the Dakota Sioux have finally acquired more guns or money than the pro-pipeline forces. It is because we are ready collectively for a change of heart.
