The United States will never free itself from Globalist control, while we are dependent on foreign oil.
As long as just one among us is still driving a gasoline powered vehicle, using a farm tractor, a quad, a lawn mower, a chainsaw, or traveling on mass transportation, flying in a plane, buying consumer goods that were delivered to market by truck…. if anyone of us are participating in the consumption of oil, than we have no right to protest the development of that resource, especially when developing our own oil reserves promotes national sovereignty.
The world is twenty, thirty, perhaps even fifty years away from total oil independence. Why not free ourselves from that dependence on foreign oil, if we have the resources to do that?
Developing our own natural resources is a step forward in reclaiming our national sovereignty. Compare this to cutting our own firewood to individually free ourselves from economic bondage.
Now, as for routing a pipeline through sensitive territory, this is yet another issue. Every reasonable effort should have been taken to respect the territorial rights of the indigenous people whose tribal lands are being violated.
Common sense dictates: reroute the pipeline, don’t close it down.

Noting the Keystone Pipeline is and always was an oil pipeline system in Canada and the United States, commissioned in 2010. It runs from the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin in Alberta to refineries in Illinois and Texas, and also to oil tank farms and an oil pipeline distribution center in Cushing, Oklahoma.
The Keystone Pipeline (Phase I), delivering oil from Hardisty, Alberta, over 3,456 kilometres (2,147 mi) to the junction at Steele City, Nebraska, and on to Wood River Refinery in Roxana, Illinois, and Patoka Oil Terminal Hub (tank farm) north of Patoka, Illinois, completed in June 2010.
The proposed Keystone XL Pipeline (Phase IV) would have essentially duplicated the Phase I pipeline between Hardisty, Alberta, and Steele City, Nebraska, with a shorter route and a larger-diameter pipe. It would run through Baker, Montana, where American-produced light crude oil from the Williston Basin (Bakken formation) of Montana and North Dakota would be added to the Keystone's current throughput of synthetic crude oil (syncrude) and diluted bitumen (dilbit) from the oil sands of Canada.
The Keystone XL Pipeline Project (Phase IV) revised proposal in 2012 consists of a new 36-inch (910 mm) pipeline from Hardisty, Alberta, through Montana and South Dakota to Steele City, Nebraska, to "transport of up to 830,000 barrels per day (132,000 m3/d) of crude oil from the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin in Alberta, Canada, and from the Williston Basin (Bakken) region in Montana and North Dakota, primarily to refineries in the Gulf Coast area."

^^^^ ....Yet, your earlier comment was in protest to the Dakoda Access pipeline. Clearly referenced by crediting the "Standing Rock" Soux Tribe.
My comment was also directed to the "Standing Rock" situation. Developing the Dakoda Bakken Formation is a step toward developing our own oil resources.
The Keystone Pipeline was never referenced, and is unassociated to the Dakoda Access Pipeline.
However, it is a benefit because it frees the US from dependence on Middle Eastern Oil. The numbers on your chart prove that. That Middle Eastern dependence is what has caused the global situation we are currently embroiled within. Middle Eastern Oil has driven the Global Nightmare since oil was first discovered in the Middle East. Think about it....

Perhaps you should reread my statement. I mentioned Keystone in fact first before Standing Rock. They are both potential environmental disasters in the making. And yes I do stand with Standing Rock.
You may also want to check out that chart. Our dependence on foreign oil is primarily with Canada.

But what I said regarding Canadian oil vs. Middle Eastern still stands.
Could you ever expect the US would go to war with Canada over oil? Or attempt a Coup within the Canadian government? Dependence on Canadian oil vs. dependence on Middle Eastern oil.... whose the winner?

Well - while you both (Shadowself and Exit 0) almost seem polar opposite in
political ideological perspectives, i sense you both are true U.S. patriots for
all essential purpose and intent ... And with that, I also do not see any of
this discussion really leading to anything other than this tempered restful
resolve of sorts ... Perhaps you both might be interested in actually talking
with others in a possible future meetup on The Cosmic Emporium?
I sense it would be an excellent exercise, in allowing for the detachment from
these partisan issues which impedes our country's current future progress.
