The Crystal Serenity in August became the largest cruise liner to ever traverse the Northwest Passage. More than 1,700 passengers and crew toured the Canadian Arctic and visited Pond Inlet, disrupting the lifestyle of its local community, comprising about 1,300 residents.
"They're in our hunting zone. There's hardly any narwhales coming by," community health worker Ena Maktar said. "If the marine mammals are not there any more, that means we're going to have to travel further to go hunt for our food."
Since the 1980s, Northwest Passage transits have quadrupled. Increased rates of Arctic tourism are threatening the food security of local communities.
"Before the [outsiders] arrived, Inuit fended for themselves by using the animals." Pond Inlet elder Elijah Panikpakochoo told VICE News correspondent Arielle Duhaime-Ross. "We survived by ourselves."

Next year, the original cast and director of the 1996 film Trainspotting will reunite on-screen for T2 Trainspotting, with the film's first trailer surfacing Thursday.
In an homage to the original, a voiceover declares, "choose life," before providing a modern twist: "Choose Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and hope that someone, somewhere cares." Time may have passed, but little else in the Trainspotting world seems to have changed: the clip is full of drug use, sex, mayhem and Underworld's "Born Slippy," all of which were central to the first movie's appeal.
T2 is based on author Irvine Welsh's book Porno, his sequel to the Trainspotting novel. While Porno is set a decade after the original action, T2 sticks closer to the real-life timeline, bringing the characters together 20 years later. John Hodge, who penned the original film, and director Danny Boyle both return for the sequel.
"It's one of the best scripts I've ****ing read," Robert Carlyle, who plays Begbie in the movie, told NME last year. "This film is going to be quite emotional for people …You are going to be thinking, '****. What have I done with my life?' Have these four characters changed? Have they remained the same? Have they ****ed it up completely? Have they achieved anything? And of course the audience are going to be asking themselves exactly the same questions."

Created finally in the XVI century A.D. and accepted today chronology and history of the ancient and medieval world, evidently contains big mistakes.
Many outstanding scientists understood it and discussed during a long period of time. But it appeared to be a difficult task to build a new, non-contradictory concept of chronology.
Starting from 1975 a group of mathematicians, mainly from the Moscow State University, were engaged in the development of this problem. Interesting results were received and published both in scientific periodical print and in separate monographs. We underline, that new concept of chronology is based, mainly, on analysis of historical sources WITH THE METHODS OF MODERN MATHEMATICAL STATISTICS and vast COMPUTER CALCULATIONS.
The task of chronology is to put in order the events into proper way on a temporary scale based on the available information. This task naturally fits into the field of applications to modern mathematical statistics, theory of information. The methods of humanities, one of which is history, are not enough for solving chronological issues. New chronology imposes another psychological picture of perception of the antiquity. Now the word "antiquity" should be connected with XV-XVII centuries A.D. that is with the events, distant from us on 300-400 years. Expression "high antiquity" should now relate to the XIII-XIV centuries A.D. And the words "the highest antiquity" – are already the XI-XII centuries A. D. BEFORE THE X-XI CENTURIES A.D. THE EPOCH OF SILENCE OF WRITTEN DOCUMENTS COMES. (See the book RECONSTRUCTION).
Our analyses of the chronology and history opened a striking circumstance. Based on the applied by us mathematical methods it was proved, that the Scaligerian chronology, and therefore also the Scaligerian history of the "antiquity" and the Middle Ages, is totally wrong. Moreover, it appeared that our history right up to the end of the XVI century was consciously falsified at the epoch of the XVII-XVIII centuries.

None of this changes my opinion regarding the only two-party choice we've been given. Trump has publicly stated that he's against Globalization, while The Clintons are a Globalist Machine....
