The Indian government actually tried to put a stop to the rotting grain (which is being produced at too great of a rate to even store in proper facilities, which is why it is rotting so fast) but officials ignored them. So it's not like they can't do anything about it. It's just that they are too eat up in corruption at the moment for the laws to be followed.

Compare this to the communist regimes of the USSR, China, or Cambodia and you'll see even greater atrocities involving starvation, often intentional. If you want to be fair about capitalism vs communism you should bring that up too. We have seen very few communist governments on any large scale because they collapse so immediately into totalitarianism, which I'm telling you people is the whole point of it. It's not even a contest as to which has been more effective. We are all still part of capitalist societies right now, thank God, because if we were under totalitarian communism we probably wouldn't even be allowed to have this discussion. China's iron grip on its media is well known. Communist governments tend to have sensitive feelings too apparently.
The problem isn't that India grew too much grain and it rotted. The problem is they didn't feed it to their own people. This isn't a storage issue because they could have given grain away to the starving masses before it rotted. These two pictures shouldn't coexist on the same planet let alone the same country. The solution isn't to grow less grain but the feed the hungry and stop destroying the natural abundance of the Earth.

It is all about the propaganda.
Note the subtle reverse psychology in the following cartoon where the meaning is the complete opposite of that you think it is. The starving masses are dehumanized as grabbing shadows. This is actually a pro-capitalist cartoon masquerading as pro-socialism. Capitalism and Communism are two sides of the same coin united in the concept of artificial scarcity. In reality nobody has to starve because there is more than enough food for everyone.

Nobody benefits from this. It is a lose / lose paradigm for the human race. The only entities that like this are the parasites who feed off of human misery.

I didn't say the solution was to grow less grain. I posted the article where the image originally came from and you can read what they said themselves about it. People who stand to profit from its sale might not be motivated to give it away for free, but you can't say it's the Indian government's fault, because they ordered for it to be distributed for free.

Seems kind of pointless to suggest replacing the entire Indian government (the largest democracy in the world) with communism just because their government was too corrupt to give away anything for free in the first place. I guess the attitude is, if it's broke, to hell with it, break it even more.

Even in 2010, when the Supreme Court directed the government to give the grain to the hungry for free rather than let it rot, state governments ignored the request or only distributed grain with low, subsidized prices to people with ration cards.

While the grain is clearly not feeding hungry Indians, it is also not making the government any money either.

Due in part to "good" monsoons, the surplus' real impetus is provided by government subsidies to farmers, creating incentive to harvest as many crops as possible, even when the supply outweighs the demand. With the inflated prices the government pays to farmers for the crops, exporting the surplus becomes a problem because of the much lower market value the crops garner in world markets.

According to the same Reuters article, the Indian government pays about $346 per ton. To be competitive in the market, a ton would have to sell for about $260. That $80 difference constitutes a huge loss for a government already running a high fiscal deficit. The crops don't feed who they should and in the end, actually cost the government billions.

I would post a bunch of pictures of dead people who starved to death under Stalin or Mao but it's not nice so I won't do that.

Hey, here's a question. Why didn't all of our pioneers and frontiersmen starve to death in the 1700's and 1800's when no one was giving them free food, and they often lived isolated even from stores? Who was giving them their free food? There must have been so many homeless people and starving people back then, right?

Oh no, that's right. People actually worked and grew their own food.

I understand if you live in a packed slum of a city, with a million people per square foot, maybe you don't have any land to grow anything. But who forces anyone to live in a situation like that? Taking responsibility is important. I'm all for charity for people on hard times, but maybe people should take more responsibility for their situation in general rather than expecting someone else to solve all of their problems for them, because that will never happen under any government.

What do you expect Fred, that they're try to make him look bad while promoting him? Not sure how you think it's supposed to be instead.

Hell you don't have to run for president to have a glorious cartoon made of you.

Roger Stone has been saying that Comey reopened the email investigation with Obama's consent. That sounds kind of crazy but it now looks like that is indeed the case and Roger Stone had it right again.

Are you ORDERING me to keep new Clinton email bombshell SECRET? How FBI boss called attorney-general's bluff before revealing Weiner breakthrough
    [...]
However the White House went out of its way to distance itself from Clinton's attack and slap down Reid.

Press Secretary Josh Earnest would neither 'defend nor criticize' the letter Comey sent to Congress on Friday.

But the senior White House official said the president does not believe that the Republican law enforcement official is looking to 'intentionally influence the outcome' of the presidential election.

'The president’s assessment of his integrity and his character has not changed,' Earnest said at his daily briefing. 'The president doesn’t believe he’s secretly strategizing to benefit one candidate or one political party.'

The White House directed questions about the Hatch Act to the Office of Independent Counsel today as it walked a fine line between backing Comey and undercutting Democrats, including his preferred successor, who say the FBI director acted out of turn.
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ls-source.html

The plot thickens and the question now becomes, why would Obama endorse Comey's reopening of an investigation that would surely hurt Clinton's campaign? A lot of speculation going on and it seems to be a pretty involved game of chess at this point. Though it hurt the Clinton campaign it may have hurt it less than a Wikileaks release of the 33,000 missing emails would have, which is believed to be on the horizon anyway. Obama himself is also being implicated in these emails. He stated before that he had no knowledge of Clinton's private server until it became public knowledge, but then Wikileaks showed that he himself was emailing her on that private server -- using his own illegal private email address. These are some of the most powerful people in the world and they sign agreements as to how to conduct their official communication, and private communications that circumvent FOIA laws are illegal. That's the whole reason these guys use private servers and emails in the first place, to hide stuff from public record that they don't want anybody knowing about.

Somebody brought something to my attention and I just want to add something to what I posted up above. Not everyone is in a position to take care of themselves, whether it's young children, or the elderly, or people with various forms of disabilities. These people can't be expected to do everything for themselves and I do think it's in society's interest to take care of them. It's obviously the right thing to do in those cases. And so even though I don't like the term "entitlement," I do think there should be some limited entitlement programs to make sure the young and old and disabled are provided for, who are all unable to take full care of themselves through no fault of their own.

That's the caveat. Those are the people we should be taking care of. Now let me tell you who I feel absolutely no obligation at all to take care of: anybody who is physically and mentally capable of doing things for themselves, but wants everybody else to do everything for them anyway. Don't make the government do everything for you. They are going to do a terrible job and gradually enslave you in the process, because all those guys want is more power. You're not going to elect Jesus H. Christ and his vice president John the Baptist on any party platform. Those aren't the kinds of people who go into politics in the first place.

Would it work to let those who wish to work, work and those who do not, not. Of course with no tptW around this would likely work as many feel fufulled working and many feel fufulled enjoying.

Alright. So you'll work and I'll do nothing all day. You can feed me, shelter me and provide all my clothes and stuff. Deal?

When you pay people to do nothing, that's exactly what everyone will do. Not many people I know enjoy working. If you got paid whether you worked or not, who the hell is going to work?

Btw you can already do nothing if that's what you want. You just get nothing for it. Which sounds about right to me.

You know who else doesn't work? Rich people like the Walton's the owners of Walmart. When Sam Walton passed away he left billions and billions to his children, grandchildren, and great grand children. What did they do to earn their riches? Nothing that is what. Despite spending millions of dollars every year on obscene luxuries their fortune continues to grow and is much larger now than when they first inherited it. That is all been given to them without working. Working is for suckers. That is the God's truth. Sam Walton hardly worked a day in life either so where did his fortune come from?

The second secret to their wealth has to do with how the rich evade the karmic laws. The God's truth is that universe wasn't created through work but was simply manifested into being via the law of attraction. The same power of manifestation was bestowed onto humans and effects our present world as well. What if I told you that everyone could live like billionaires through manifestation? Well is is true. There currently exist many suppressed technologies: free energy devices, Tesla tech, replicators, and such that could relieve humanity from the burdens of work. It is a deficit of consciousness that keeps humanity from accessing these devices. If everybody knew these things existed then the world controllers would not be able to suppress the hidden technology anymore. As long as humans are kept ignorant of the higher truths then TPTB can exploit us and laugh at us as we work ourselves to death while they nary lift a finger.

You know what a red herring is?

I'm tired of repeating the fact that corporations are not well regulated. When you can read and remember what I say I won't have to keep repeating myself.

No matter how many faults you point out about unregulated capitalism you're not going to suddenly make communism work.

I am not a communist nor do support such a system. I have read Ayn Rand and I am voting for Trump. Who is John Galt?

The point I am trying to make is if you are more outraged by a woman on welfare then rich whites on Wall Street looting your future then you have been duped. I am committed to defeating the George Soros, Rockefellers, Rothschilds of this world and all these other rich parasites who never created anything other than human misery.

Because judge not lest ye be judged. Evil still has to be stopped but this woman is NOT part of the problem. The woman on welfare has done nothing wrong except eat from the pile of rotted grain that would have otherwise gone to waste. To judge her as doing something wrong is akin to saying: here is a plate of food but I am just going to throw it in the garbage and not let you eat it.

Do you know what the idle rich call 99% of humanity? "Useless Eaters" Don't be like them.

Okay, so more red herrings. I asked why can't I be outraged about both things at the same time. Your response does not answer that question. Maybe you misunderstood. Maybe I just watched Forrest Gump and warped in from another universe and the post above is residue from some other universe. Thanks for replying anyway.
