Semitic is a language group, not a people, though it includes ALL members of Semitic-speaking peoples of which Arabic is by far the largest. The appropriation and redefinition of the word is unfortunate.

I am both saddened and alarmed, not just annoyed, by the ugly anti-Jewish sentiment I see expressed in comments and live chats on the internet. I grew up in a Jewish community and apartment building. 40 apartments, 2 gentile and 38 Jewish families. My first serious girlfriends were Jewish, and many more after that. I love Jewish people. I have been banned from homes, asked to leave parties by some Jewish families. On the other hand, I have been feted and treated like a prince by the large majority of them. (They like smart and I do too).

Criminals are criminals, their religion or ethnicity has no bearing on things and just muddies identifying criminal behavior when the emotionally charged, but empirically unimportant issue of religion/ethnicity, is thrown into narratives/parrotives.

So, other than choice of words, I agree with you.

It’s kinda hard to be antisemitic towards folks who are not semites. Ashkenazi Jews are a group of folks from Eastern Europe, not the Levant. Genetic testing has shown that. The only real semites are the Bedouin tribesmen in the area.

Forgetting a loved one is dead.

Sometimes imo all one really has choice wise is, being with the what is, sitting with it, letting tears wash away.

Can not imagine someone losing their life long partner, their process around this facet of death.

Our old Mother, Great, and Grand.

    As time stood still,
    It must now begin again,
Moving on, at a familiar pace.
    The day turns to night.
    The bird song quietens,
And is replaced by the chirp of cricket wing.
They who gathered, now wander home.
    A sense of closure.
An echo of time floating about.
    Still and calm.
    Bring forward your hopes,
    And bring forth those promises.
Let them wash through the edges of the inevitable.
Take pride in that which binds us.
Accept the pain that denies us,
    Joy.
    Forever is not so long.
    It is better than never,
and can be replaced with song.
    Our memories sing in harmony,
    All parts make a whole.
    An unbreakable completeness,
    A timeless tribute.
    See you again.
    I smile for you now.
    Love, your friend.

Lots of self righteousness flooding through the forum in recent days, if people are happy with their stances then that is all that can be done.
Myself, I feel slightly hard done by, misunderstood, and mistreated.
Lots of us are how ever we are, plenty of excuses to be had.
Nevertheless I am regretful for the way I reacted to the mistreatment I felt, I indeed should know better and have taken the other options available to me. I honestly didn't expect the kind of spiralling reactions from multiple angles that ensued over the next while.
Oh well, even if it has all left a bad taste in the mouth, it all still really came from a storm in a tea cup.

My husband got pissy in Ireland over a discussion about who was a guest artist in a song. He couldn't recall who it was but he knew I was wrong. When we stopped to get something to eat and I didn't want anything he walked off in a huff, leaving me behind.

At night. In a foreign country. Because he's being a pissy bitch.

Such is the way of things.

I followed behind just enough to keep him in sight. He never looked back.

The irony is he only hurts himself by acting this way.

The toughest lesson I've had to learn in life is that there is one person, ultimately, who has my back. And that's me. The people who I should have been able to trust in life have all broken trust in a profound way: father, mother, brother, sister-in-law, husband.

But not my son. He would never betray me. And ultimately, he matters most. He'll be around long after I'm gone. (hopefully)

They say actions speak louder than words, which can include inactions. But it is then, when there are no words or actions that a considerable amount is then left up to the imagination. And that is when it is up to you where you want to be. :-)

Sad to hear this. But ultimately we are really on our own...nobody can else can do the lesson but you. The hero in the story has to be you.
