Yeah but the comedian is still alive. It was about the comedian not the dead criminal the comedian is portraying.

    Angry

Europe switched back from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time one week ago, and the European Parliament is currently debating on whether to abandon Daylight Saving Time altogether. And just now, I've read on Slashdot that the USA has also opened up this debate. Coincidence? I think not.

While I understand that what we call Winter Time over here in Belgium is actually Standard Time — concretely, GMT + 01:00 — I always feel depressed when switching back from Daylight Saving Time, and conversely, I am always feeling much better when we switch to Daylight Saving Time again at the end of March.

And I'm obviously not the only one. A few years ago, there was a poll among the people — read: the people, not the politicians — with respect to which they preferred, and more than 70% of the people stated that they preferred Summer Time (i.e. Daylight Saving Time), and sticking with that all year around.

But so now the Idiots In Charge™ are contemplating dropping Daylight Saving Time altogether and sticking with Winter Time (i.e. Standard Time) again, just like before the 1970s.

Let me ask you Idiots In Charge™ something... Suppose that we stick to Standard Time, how many people are really going to benefit from the sun starting to rise at 04:00 in the morning in summer, versus the people who are going to benefit from the sun setting at 22:30 in summer if we make Summer Time into Standard Time — i.e. effectively permanently adding one hour to the difference with GMT? And how exactly is it democracy if more than 70% of the people would prefer it this way while you career politicians decide to do it the other way around?

    P.S.:

    Dear Idiots In Charge™,

Are you aware that Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are still looking for volunteers for a manned expedition to Mars?

We strongly recommend that you would consider their offer. Pretty please.

Thank you very much in advance.

    Sincerely,
We, The People Who've Been Enduring You Since The Dawn Of Time.

Another cool thing about Arizona: the only US State with No Daylight Savings!

I was told once by a corporation and a union boss that Daylight Savings Time was an act of God. Really! I countered that perhaps it was an Act of Congress but it sure as hell wasn't an Act of God. They didn't much care to hear my opinion. A**holes!

Peoples' body clocks seem to be actually a little longer than a 24 hour day. When they are not in natural sunlight, peoples' days stretch out to something closer to 26 hours, if I recall correctly.

Welll, Funny you should use that word, I HAVE been tiki weaving?

That last tour ended up lasting a few months, the mission I found I was going for was not so much the exploring in the end (the meet up got cancelled), but it ended up being making a house ready for sale for my ageing parents.
