Banned Disney UFO Documentary - Unedited - Alien Encounters

    Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCUmX8Lw5to

This film was shown only once, and with no advance notice on stations in only five US cities. The original Michael Eisner intro hit me right in the nostalgia.

Lost Walt Disney UFO Documentary, Alien Encounters: In March of 1995, Walt Disney Television aired an intriguing UFO special. This highly unusual UFO video special presents UFOs and alien visitation to our planet as a matter of fact.

At first glance, the special appears to be a promotion of the "New Tomorrowland" area, in particular the new "Alien Encounters" ride. This was in the mid 90's. (This venture was cancelled almost immediately)

However, upon closer inspection...it is much more. The entire program, which opens with a short segment by Disney CEO Michael Eisner, does not even question the existence of UFOs and a major UFO cover-up. In fact, at times it has A Tone Of ridicule Towards Those Who Still Deny That UFO's exist; quite unique ___
""It's easily located today online, but the circumstances of its production and (highly limited) distribution, and its oddly firm view of the reality of the phenomenon, make it decidedly weird and unique.""

""If all Disney wanted to do was promote its new theme park ride with an alien theme, they needn't have gone to nearly as much trouble. As it is, it's almost like the ride-promo mission was used as a Trojan horse / excuse to deliver a lot more subversive and revolutionary information. Maybe this really was a disclosure exercise gone awry, maybe it was out-of-control filmmakers who produced an end product the Disney chiefs didn't know what to make of. But it sure is fun speculating, and the show has since become a UFO conspiracy' staple -- another tantalizing hint of the truth, allegedly.""

At 20 min. they talk about the hotline set up between the US and USSR. Then a man is shown in some kind of command center pointing at and touching a screen with a device shaped just like a handgun and he's pulling a trigger. He touches the screen with it. Very strange.

Way back when, in the ancient days of "optical screen readers", they didn't have "touch screens".. Instead a "gun like device" had to be used, pointed to the screen and the "capture pixel/location" was needed.

Back then the TV screens scanned an electron beam, starting at one point and then continued to travel downwards, the timing on the screen from the start to the desired location "captured" (by button press on the photo-pickup device) gave the location. A crude way of saying "this is the input desired at the screen location determined".

Eventually the crude "gun" capture device (which housed something called a "photo-tube" (like a photo-diode of modern era) shrank but the screen point capture logic was still being used:

Finally, this changed into a "digitizer" (the first "tablets") that didn't need the TV screen scanning beam to find location of the "pointing device"..

eventually leading into full "touch screens" that didn't need the "pen" to be connected to the scanning circuits for location timing and finding where it is..

and still eventually getting rid of the pen just allowing one to move one's hands with gestures to control the computer - coupled with full stereo cameras (a 3D headset), the experience very much then matches what Disney would have wanted to show, a "tomorrow-land" finally here.. The lag tends to be about 50-60 years from inception to release of the systems into public.. Is that the period of indoctrination needed? For the 'people' to not freak out and consider it perfectly normal? A company like Disney to be the release group? Working on a very very slow predetermined "release schedule", so that people never realize what it is that they are using maybe came from "other than normal" engineering, or "imagineering made practical"..

Thanks, Bob. I knew someone would know what it was. It's a fascinating progression.

Did anyone watch Caprica? It was a spinoff from the second incarnation of Battlestar Galactica. There was a very advanced technology involving wearing a visor and connecting into a virtual reality which was very real.

I was very interested in where they were going with that, but the show got canceled.
