    Beth Leone

Beth was on Fade to Black on the 15th of June and she spoke of her journey through illness to healing. I found the show quite interesting.

There was a story she told about Michael Harner that I found quite funny. In the 60s he spent time in South America with some indigenous cultures. He was asking many questions about their religion. They finally told him that if he really wants to know he should drink their tea. It was Ayahuasca. He did, got quite ill and needed an antidote, and had numerous visions in the process.

He really wanted to talk about these visions and so he went into the Amazon rain forest and found a blind shaman to talk to. Among the stories he told this shaman was one about a number of dragons that began falling out of the sky. They told him that they were the rulers of this world.

The blind shaman replied, "Oh, they're always saying that."

    I laughed.

And I recalled that I had had a dream about dragons just a couple days before. It was brief. I was standing at the edge of a cliff wall which rose above me. There was a cave in front of me. I stood just outside. I heard a very loud screeching sound and somehow knew it was a dragon. Someone may have told me. I thought that I should be afraid but wasn't. I worried someone might get eaten. I looked up. The sky was light grey with clouds and it was daytime. I saw a dragon flying. It emerged from the clouds and then went back in. I got one more look. I felt fortunate to see a dragon and also cautious. It was black with wings and legs and a tail. (Not a flying serpent).

The dream was familiar. Once awake I recalled having had it before and being much more afraid during that dreaming.

My goodness, no wonder you call yourself Dreamtimer, hey?

I figured that if I can recall about 20% of my dreams it would be a massive 'awakening' of awareness. Not there yet.

A thread on Beth Leone could contain many discussions:

She suffered from bulimia for years.

She travelled the hero's journey into healing.

She became a shaman when 'nobody was doing that'.

She has five black belts in Shaolin Kung Fu and became the first female instructor in her martial art lineage.

She has written two books on Qigong.

She studies the sacred sexual traditions and has written the Yoni Care Handbook.

Her next book will be on Sacred Partner Alchemy.

Came across this video and thought I'd share it here as it is about qigong. (Thanks to turiya)

I used to keep a dream journal but it got to where when I was waking up in the morning I was spending 20 minutes or more sometimes writing down all the details. The more details I was remembering and recording, the more I was remembering as time went on, and it was so much I finally got burned out and stopped doing it. But I think the real fruit of all of this is lucid dreaming. Learning to do "impossible" things in lucid dreams like flying, or just taking possession of your thoughts and feelings (because they manifest around you pretty much instantly in a dream) is pretty profound stuff and I think there's a lot of valuable carry-over into waking reality.

Qi Gong, martial arts, ayahuasca ceremonies in the Amazon, all on my bucket list. This kind of stuff is great.

Your point about lucid dreaming is a very good one, bsbray. There are surgeons, athletes, artists and more who can go into the lucid dream and 'practice' what they do before actually physically doing it. It's amazing.

This is not my strength. I go instinctively where I need to and the dreams come as I need them to practice or view what I need. I don't necessarily recall them so I act instinctively in life as well.

Dream journaling does take time, which is why I am only periodic with it. It is a tremendous tool and I can't recall everything so I'm always happier when I'm journaling.

Tai chi and qigong are the arts that I think will agree with me. I've done only a little tai chi.

I really enjoyed the video you posted, Dreamtimer, I was going to comment on it, but was interrupted with a phone call. Really interesting stuff to consider, becoming one with everything and nothing can attack you. Nobody is above you or below you. Loved it very much thanks.

I like thinking about the idea of being a grain of salt. When you go into the glass of water you merge and become one with the water.

I also really like how he shows the difference between rivalry and cooperation.

Hitting the nail on the head there...it is really that simple isn't it? As I said, I love it.
