The issue of the characters like Shane etc. who seek our attention is that the only reason they reach out is so they WILL have our attention. And actually unless one is needing what THEY seem to offer, we can all just plod along neutrally.

What I read in your discussion is that you needed some validation for anomalous experience and believed from what he dangled that he "knew" what you did not know. So, he gave you some more information and more information (all the time building on your responses). I don't think your disappointment needs to be extended now you realize all he wanted was to have your attention.

So, the hard question: do you miss/ want him in a bromancey way? That pain needs processing like any heart break of human "love lost". Narcissists don't "love" us and that hurts. IMO ANY of these claiming they are ready to reveal esoteric wisdom to us noobs, grant us their (g)knowledge, save us as they are special "guru" types are whistling blowers. IMO they are seeking narcissitic supply. I read this quote on another forum about a different female "guru" and it is pertinent.

It is really easy these days to make youtube videos. The ones of rambling conversations where the makers want us to listen to them for hours have little substance if any. That is why editing is really valuable. They are from "personalities" who have sought recognition and we give our time and "views" by listening and tyhis is in itself a "tell" IMO.

What have we gained from these hours spent on "persons of interest?" really?? The personality cults need to be retired as they become repetitive dramedies. It is such a yawn...the alt youtube culture is reaching its nadir of shlocking lack of relevance. Sorry guys...you are BORING
    .

So, in addition to what you have expounded, I say: this is what continuing the waking up feels like.....

I listened to a couple minutes and felt like a voyeur listening in to an old fashioned party phone line. At the end of the day, this seems like the Ruiner painfully dragging out his few minutes in the spotlight, trying desperately to rationalize and find significance in the nothingness of his celebrity. How far can a little "niceness" go. I remember he got a huge amount of mileage out being such a nice guy.

It makes me wonder why people get so addicted to a little bit of celebrity. How shallow and temporary it is, and even more so if deep in the pit of your gut, you know it is based on total deception. You can do all the mental gymnastics you want to make it right, but somewhere and sometime the truth will raise its head.

At the end of the day, the question is , how much time and energy do I want to give to it? I suppose every narcissist dreams of living off of their celebrity by getting x amount of views on youtube and that speaks to the decline in content and the increase in volume of alternative material. Everything eventually becomes corrupted, and this is how it has manifested in the truth seeking arena. There was bound to be those that could smell the potential con, a mile away. I don't know for a fact, but I don't think any of these guys holds down a regular 9-5 job, judging by how much time they spent on the internet before they became "famous". So if they try to profit off of this, I am not surprised.

I do agree with Sam, though. To knowingly be deceptive to a trusting audience is treachery, and I find that really ugly. When you start charging for you knowledge, that is criminal.

I listened to Northern Runes Radio a few times, particularly to the programs specifically on the runes. One of the terms I came across was 'unverified personal gnosis'. The term caused me to think about the meaning of gnosis. It is inherently personal.

I don't think narcissists have real personal gnosis. They need a lot of affirmation.

These guys (like CW most recently) all seem eventually to claim dibs on the "The Metaphysical" that they have insight into (and we don't). They do not realize they are ONLY lowly spiritualists.

To Be Ultra Spiritual is more than just spiritual... and a newer age is distinct from the new age. JP Sears is one of the funniest satirists I have heard recently.

    This is hilarious here:

Oh Maggie, thanks. Sam was the first I saw who posted videos by JP. So funny. There was one I particularly liked on meditation where he goes back and forth being his sensible self and then his silly, headband-wearing, making it harder than it needs to be self.

I was traveling last fall and I swear I saw him in an airport. I didn't say anything since I don't know him.

Ohhh my gosh... this is JP at his best. And Tami Simon plays right along like the pro she is... why oh why did I stray into the swine pit where the pearls bestowed upon me by the psuedo-enlightened only distracted me from the "muck" I was swimming in?

Anyways - we shall see if indeed I have extracted myself from the club I had joined -

the club of the stark, raving enlightened.

Regarding C. W. Chanter, I have had the pleasure of chatting with him a few times... and once we were able to video Skype for a few hours and well... frankly, my strong impression is that when it comes down to it, he's the real deal, a real human being, not enjoying running games on others. He's down to Earth in those one on one situations as many times Shane was. He also has a very real sense of right and wrong. He's someone who, if he became your friend, you could count on him. You could count on him also telling you how he honestly sees it (in personal matters) regardless of whether you like what he's telling you. Yet he does it because he cares and he doesn't play games at that level.

I still haven't totally figured out in which videos he's acting and in which videos he is really coming from his heart. But to know him directly, you get the real deal and that... frankly is very refreshing.

Anyways, I expressed the above such that a reader might get the impression I believe those things to be facts. The fact is that these are my subjective impressions yet I make odds very, very high that these subjective conclusions are likely true across the board (meaning others who have come to know C. W. would also state the same).

In a way, I owe C. W. because it was C. W.'s video that made the biggest impression during my "snapping out of it phase" with regards to Shane. Thanks C. W. and keep the videos rolling out!

In fact... he would fit in great here at TOT IMO as I have found many folks here that are very much the real deal... grounded and with good hearts while also being open minded to the anomalous.

I guess one can put together a pretty sound game plan with just a little study -

    http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread60799/pg1

In the above linked thread a question is asked about Dan Sherman's story as to whether it has been debunked or not -

Part of the story is that Dan doesn't claim "proof". He simply tells his story and you make up your own mind. He has not set out to "prove" anything and he will be the first to tell you, he has no proof.
I thought I was experiencing Déjà vu!!!

well... since it started with the satirical comment I made in Post #8 in this thread, I guess this is the right place to put this...

well... maybe not - this video and my less than steller response video has been pulled
