Liz Crokin sounds like a very bad msm journalist... So she quit an honest gig to become whatever she is now ... apparently not msm.
She certainly had a disgusting notion of what her job was...where else to go but even further down.

Imagine the future is happening this moment present while also past happens this moment present, only present can be, the present holds not the past and the future is the present.

Now to gauge the past not now, the future present overtakes, rules now.

This gathers now, a movie of past leaving present.

    This is happening now

The only problem is that when the movie ends, the present has now left the future behind. See when we get right down to it, the gathering past not only leaves the future behind, but when the present gets to the point where it's only eating up all our time, time is really all we have if we observe close enough through relative distinction.

Bound as we are, through thick and thin not withstanding the ever playing music in our heads as the warm waters of the past flow gently into the present, we, and only we, bear witness to it's unfolding. This is happening now, as it was yesterday, and also will tomorrow...

Now this is where it gets tricky, yet ever so vital to truly understand. Just as future is present melting into the past, while the movie of the present dances to the music of it's own creation through the infinite fractals of our consciousness observing itself as they're left behind to the mists of time, only then is the moment of our ultimate reckoning. Which is, as you rightly put it, happening right now.
The unexamined life is not worth living.
