If he is, then it's certainly neither out of his own volition, nor within his awareness. He has consciously and willingly destroyed any and all progress that the USA as a nation had made on account of protecting the environment, and he has managed to do so in less than three years since his inauguration.

So, after two years of Trump now how does America really look like? Has anything changed, for the better or worse? I certainly have my views about it, but then again I'm an "outsider" as an European and I only get to see what's on the news. I know for a fact that it sure has divided the people if nothing else. I'd like to hear how Americans themselves see these times and how do they see the future.

The government shutdown is screwing with things. And if Trump pushes it again it'll screw things up more.

Some people have a pavlovian desire to just get rid of government and it's clear that:

a) they have no alternate plan

b) they have no idea how many people it will hurt which is just about everybody

My brother said, "Maybe people will learn how much they don't need government". The opposite is happening. They're beginning to learn just how much they do need it. They didn't know before, they sure do now.

The result will be that people will be hurt and Trump and the republicans will pay the price.

If Trump calls a national emergency for harm he directly caused people will see right through it. And he will lose his big beautiful economy.

Over the years conservatives have made an art of blaming the Dems for everything. Trump is much too clumsy to pull that off and he ends up being see-through. And so people are now seeing through all the BS the conservatives have been offering up regarding government and the liberals.

For better or worse, people will turn away from conservatism.

I think Captain Chaos is having the effect that a released wind up toy is meant to have, in this particular case taking divide and conquer to new and soaring heights. The reactionary lizard brain of both home teams is activated and stuck on overdrive with one team excusing and cheering on everything he does, and the other team excusing and cheering on anything his opposition does.

It's like living in a toxic sludge between these two battling cults and their obsessive devotees, as if nothing else matters but cut throat politics any more...

Thou art short of memory, NotAPretender.

Abby Martin is an independent investigative journalist ─ she is also the founder of the citizen journalism project Media Roots, together with her brother Robbie ─ and she has worked for RT for a number of years, where she had her own 30-minute show, called "Breaking The Set". She is currently still working as an independent journalist with her partner Mike Frysner, but they do have a contract with TeleSUR, a South American broadcasting network. The contract only covers the broadcasting. TeleSUR has no control over what Abby and her team choose to investigate and report on.

CNN (or any of the other mainstream media networks) would be the last thing Abby Martin would ever be a spokesperson for. And she's also not pro-Russian. She has openly criticized Vladimir Putin on several occasions, including while she was still working for RT.

She is however left-leaning ─ by which I do not mean that she would be a US Democrat ─ and outspokenly progressive. I do not always agree with her statements but her heart is in the right place. She is a woman of integrity, she's passionate about what she does, and she's a professional ─ she knows the ropes.

I don't always agree with Abby either, but hell that goes for everyone including myself LOL. She certainly has all the qualities you attribute to her and she is my kind of Lefty, her, and Rep. Tulsi Gabbard from Hawaii who is running for president.

Hands down I would trust either one of these women seated in the oval office above any other president dating back to at least 1900. I doubt they'd be able to change much but it would sure be fun to watch, not to mention they're both easy on the eyes as an added bonus...

Perhaps, but I swear it was her...she was sort of in the background appearing as an independent might but relating info to CNN or maybe she just got caught on a CNN camera.

I was reading that TeleSur mission is to be the socialist brand of CNN (in their own words). Not short of memory, Aragorn (I"m a little sensitive to that term at the moment...

I never had heard of her until you started singing her praises...I agree, she's good, but I did wonder what her agenda was...I know now...not Russian, hard socialism...Ok, that's cool...she doesn't seem to be authoritarian.
