Maybe you're giving him too much credit. Helter skelter, here we come?

There are much deeper things at play here than just race, not trying to diminish the apparent racism in the US though. A disaster in Korea may have been prevented, for now... But who's to say what might happen in the Middle-East and with China too. I don't really know if people understand how much is at stake here and by 2020 and after it so many things will have changed and will be changing for good. That's when humanity will have to collectively choose it's future. There's only two ways, the other one isn't what most of us hope to see.

I may have used an incorrect term because 'race' is so memetic...'Ethnic' war would be much closer...

Ahem, methinks there's a few people here who are getting their recount of history all tangled up.

World War II lasted from 1939 until 1945, with US involvement only from 1942 until 1945, after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

The armed conflicts of the Korean War lasted from 1950 until 1953, although up until this very day, the war had never officially been declared over. According to the mainstream media, North and South Korea would now be willing to sign the required documents to officially end the war.

The Vietnam War lasted from 1955 until 1975, with US involvement becoming more prominent in 1961, and then escalating after JFK's assassination, when Lyndon B. Johnson took over as president of the USA. JFK was in favor of pulling out of Vietnam, but LBJ wanted to go the other direction and defeat the communists.

I, somewhat regretfully, didn't pay great attention to history. Past is indeed prologue. I always thought people could just move forward. Turns out that's not so easy.

In my country there are many who like to imagine contra-factual histories where the South won. Which would have meant secession. A nation divided on the eve of two great world wars.

Not so great an alternative, imo.

..which IS the whole point I was inferring the other day. But I won't keep re-punctuating it, this was an appropriate enough demonstrator and I am not interested in the dissection of the carcass at a political level, I acknowledge the cogs in that realm and notice how they appear to turn, but my eyes are on the wider narrative, waiting for the 'world' to catch up.

Apocalypse meaning dropping of the veil for all to see.
Burning is an aspect. If an addict keeps a bit of their vice stashed away, or someone smuggles their disease ridden loved one past the quarantine.
I'm not afraid of fire to the point I would attempt to stop it. What will be will be. At any point in history there were choices, but the lessons were not accepted so they continue to develop to fit the hand. Each one creating their own perfect obstacles, adding brick by brick. We all do it, individuals, nations. What will be will be, it might be unfortunate it came to this, but that is just human mind deciding for an easy path, this path is much greater and was probably the best one and the intended one all along.
