Take out the banks and the whole thing comes tumbling down like a house of cards, because nobody's going to be working anymore without getting paid, and each and every corporation is indebted to the banks — that's how the banks make their fortune in the first place. And if there's a war, then the banks are sponsoring both sides of the battlefield — it's called hedging. That way, whoever wins the war, the bank always wins.

The paradigm shift, the time of 'awakening', the bitch slap for change should have been 2008, when the entire rotten machinery of finance came close to seizing up and collapsing. Had the government not initiated emergency measures, it would have. Democracy and capitalism, (or the veneer of which) took a blow and full on fascism, in support of big banks and endless wars became ever more entrenched at that point.

Trump is not the exception, he is the logical conclusion. He CHOSE his cabinet and they are nearly all generals. He has eased up on Russia, temporarily. But...he is rattling Sabres and threatening to tear up agreements with Iran.

He is antagonizing Korea. He is cozying up to Isreal. I could go on and on. Just because he is brash and vulgar does not mean he is plain speaking and 'speaks his mind.' He made promises to his base to get elected and he caters to them now, but only symbolically, to shore up power, in the event those around him do an 'article 25' on him, or he is threatened with impeachment. I feel that he is using his base, a hopeful, angry and well armed constituency as a threat to unleash Hell on the country, if anybody gets in his way.

The democrats are awful too. They are all one party-- the War party supporting the power elite.

If impeachment takes place, does anybody have an idea when it might conclude? Would mid term elections be suspended for a time, if this is going on? Most important, what would a Pence presidency look like?

Imho, all of the self defined anti-establishment libertarians, might end up living in a harsh theocratic fascist state. One they created themselves. I find the prospect of Ted Nugent waking up in a Christian Re-education camp fairly amusing, though!

I'm down with that! Ted Nugent is a hell of a musician but somehow his creative spark went to the darkside... He's a freak!

My daughter (17-year old) says Pence might actually do something whereas Trump just flails like the sub-intellect he is (a politically correct word for all to enjoy or rail against...whatever the predisposition).

My personal opinion is that Trump is too unstable and dangerous to keep around and Pence is an isolated species living in the cesspool...Perhaps he would try to crawl out and become something else...human?! I think the deck is stacked against him though, the assorted psychologically deeply disturbed around him are pretty overwhelming!

If Trump is impeached or removed for being a dangerous clown, the U.S will be left with a cabinet comprised of generals plucked from the military which has become pretty heavily fundamentalist Christian, of late and a fundamentalist republican Congress. With Pence they will have a Christian fundy president.

The danger here, other than the obvious, is through fundamentalist churches and organizations, school boards and county seats, the infrastructure is already almost in place. Forget the Commie menace. This has been the clearer menace all along.

Fascists like theocracy. They get to do horrible things, restrict power, act quickly to entrench their own. And then just try to get rid of them! It won't be easy.

Possible...The fundamentalists are strong but the nation as a whole is not receptive to that message. I think if that started to play out there would be a similar outcry as against Trump. Trump is just a lunatic playing the flute...Fundamentalists are living in an alternate reality as well, but they as a group don't have that mystical quality of the individual psychopath. They would go down before the United States did. But then fundamentalists have that endearing quality that would propel them to destroy the U.S. before accepting rational change...so hmmm, aauuuggghhhh, it could happen....Civil war here we come!

So true, perhaps it is time to get a grip. But really, it can only go uphill from here. I suspect Trump IS the focus of the great 'awakening'. Most Americans by the time all is said and done, will be nodding and shaking their heads with a heartfelt NEVER AGAIN! If, in fact, there is any hope for any of us.
