It always gets me misty-eyed. Several years ago, my daughter was in a serious relationship with a man from Italy who was here on a work visa. She came close to marrying Max (a shortened version of his real name which I cannot pronounce, never mind spell) when his visa expired and he was to go back to Italy.
I was so torn...they were perfect for each other and yet they would have moved to Italy had they wed.
It was a very difficult decision for them. In the end, Max went home alone.
This song reminds me of the pain of their final goodbye...
