This site is about starting out with a telescope, http://www.naasbeginners.co.uk/Artic...an_be_seen.htm

I was curious as to what could be seen, as I have a cheap camera with 26x optical zoom & a nasty plastic tripod & managed to get a blurry pic of the Galilean moons & Jupiter.

    I really want a telescope now !

This is mine just to make you drool fully computerised so you align it to a couple of stars and it will track and stay locked on whatever you are looking at as the ball of rock we are all standing on rotates

I have just managed to get this far. I have now to fit a motorised unit to it, I am dreading that part as it can be operated by remote.

Just remember that looking at the moon on full image can be blinding

You made me laugh Sarah. Hope it works after I spent all morning putting it together.
My daughter said according to the reviews it only takes 20mins to assemble!
    I am not finished and it's 2 35pm. I started at 10am.
    Frances.

You made me laugh as well Malc.

There is probably a local astronomy club in your area who would be only too happy to help you get it up & running.
