Usually they say something like.. "We have discovered that it is spherical"

Hopefully they will say they have discovered evidence of intelligent life having been present once.

Probably they will just announce something about water.

I have merged this new thread with JByas's thread, NASA to Announce Mars Mystery Solved, given that it's about the same thing.

Looks like the announcement is that liquid water exists on Mars, and actually flows on the surface.

    http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/28/us/mar...-announcement/

They had announcement previously that puddles of water form on the surface of Mars at night. I must have missed that one.

One step closer to admitting that there's life there, even if they only admit to the bacterial life at first.

This could open up a whole new industry of specially labelled, bottled water!

But seriously, is the water distilled or holy water? Like how is it not stagnant. If no other parts of a functioning ecosystem exist? So they just admitted a fair bit more than what was said.

Tune in for the next announcement that they are going to make an announcement I guess!

Lol they may tell us in about 10 years that they have found a plant.

I am also not sure the picture's we see of Mars are actually Mars. Some look very much like the Chilean desert.

If you listen to what they say during the actual announcement, they've been looking at this water for some time, and it was obvious that they were probably staring at water, but they only just now admitted it and announced it publicly.

They said that at some times of the Martian year the water flows freely on the surface in certain latitudes, but during other parts of the year these streams/river seem to dry up. So they have been watching this for some time without saying much, or anything, about it.

They're just letting the public in on the real situation in baby steps. First admit there's frozen water at the poles. Then admit there's water in the atmosphere and below the surface. Then admit it's on the surface. Then admit it's running on the surface. Then eventually they'll admit there's bacteria. Then later on maybe they'll find a piece of fungus. Then maybe a primitive plant. Then holy crap, a kind of tree! And eventually.... What the hell, there are giant ancient ruined cities on Mars. Who would've thunk it??

I am also not sure the picture's we see of Mars are actually Mars. Some look very much like the Chilean desert.
I'm not sure they are legit either. I think it's been established before that they definitely screw with the colors to make everything appear more orangey-red.

It was already long known that there was water on Mars. Here, they've even already posted pictures of it on the Interwebbies...

This is an old article below.See what they said back then lol.

After Earth, Mars is the planet with the most hospitable climate in the solar system. So hospitable that it may once have harbored primitive, bacteria-like life. Outflow channels and other geologic features provide ample evidence that billions of years ago liquid water flowed on the surface of Mars. Although liquid water may still exist deep below the surface of Mars, currently the temperature is too low and the atmosphere too thin for liquid water to exist at the surface.

Mars today has both life and water however soon there will be no life on mars as its life cycle is reaching its end .

Actually it's rather cynical to look for life on Mars while we're destroying life on our own planet.
