At first perusal, I like this sequence best. It just looks fun to learn and say/sing.

I know the song well but if you'd asked me the artist, I wouldn't have recalled the name. The dude can yodel for real and what a voice. It's epic.

They were a Dutch progressive rock band in the 1970s. Their guitarist was Jan Akkerman, who has since then moved into jazz-rock fusion ─ as well as that he also performs medieval music on a lute ─ and who is by now well-known all over the world, even in the USA. Their flutist, Thijs Van Leer, has also gathered quite a reputation for himself.

In their case, and given that it was the 1970s, it probably did.

I met a guy from Holland and a guy from France yesterday ... insurance guys ... both seemingly nice people. The French guy had a thicker accent and the Dutch guy has lived in the U.s. for 3 years and sounds like a Texan despite only living here for a year or two. He said he was driven to get rid of his 'shameful' Dutch accent. I found his feelings 'interesting'.

You know I have to do something 'squirrely' Aragorn because I really can't seem to help myself ... so I made this right on topic post.

I just realized they're not playing fair. Outperforming a group of small-town musicians from a town in Kansas. Shameful! I know I've posted the story of watching Kansas play before they hit the big time. They would regularly play in a bar in my hometown that had periodic Battle of the Bands competitions. Wow, that was a rip-roaring good time. They weren't real strict about underage drinking if someone was close enough it was old enough ... Another thank you to DT.

Historical tidbit for anyone that doesn't know. Joe Walsh was from Wichita ... I lived there and my brother lives there now. Wichita has always been a Kansas musical hotspot. Good music always to be found.

I listened to this in an arena that seated 3300 (my hometown ... nearly blew out my eardrums ... it was painful even)

1971 I think... Actually, I was undecided whether it was 1970 or 71. I knew it wasn't too long after I started smoking pot. As it turns out it would have to have been before I started tokin' on the weed. 1970. I just read that they broke up in 1970.
