I've had one of his CD's before but his music is remarkable.

Space and future themes...this is the best I have seen lately. Each episode is about 15 minutes, or is it 30? Can't remember. Very sophisticated.

Is Hannibal believable, or just good entertainment. Have you seen Mindhunters?? based on fact. very scary..particularly Big Ed Kemper. Yow. Cut his Mom's head off, stuck it on his bed post and yelled at it for hours.

    Big Ed Kemper!

Talk about a difficult relationship with a mother.

I find serial killers to be interesting, I mean when it comes to psychological understanding of human beings.

What makes Kemper scary is that he seems so "normal", until you hear him speak about the things he did.

Also, Ex-policeman confesses to being sadistic 'Golden State Killer'

Here's one of the best songs made in Finland, from the 70's of course.

Mindhunters...one of the main bad guys (Dennis Rader) was a open case that I followed closely on a forum. The real stories behind the pioneers of the FBI profiling organization are interesting. Egos, mistakes, glorification of the players, agendas, all are part of their history.

One of the scariest characters ever is Richard Kuklinski who killed probably over a hundred people before he went pro for organized crime. The "Iceman" is one scary dude.

I've never read the book, "The Red Dragon", but I've seen two versions of Hannibal and they aren't consistent.

I think what people find fascinating about SK's is that are so 'weird', something other than just human. They embrace death, and their abnormal fight/flight mechanism coupled with their disturbing abusive experience makes them 'inscrutable'. It is a unique combination of factors that makes them what they are.

They probably are often sociopaths or psychopaths so their empathy regions in the brain are turned off. Hard to imagine their souls journey to reach that point. It often starts at childhood, but also I feel that on the soul level there's already inclination towards that darkness. Everything is chosen before we come here anyways. Good and evil are real things.

They are the definition of psychopath...born that way? Now there is a fascinating philosophical question. To an extent without a doubt, but an evil soul is a sad question to contemplate.

Passion is an integral part of it but is 'controlled' in the 'organized' type of serial killer.

Have you ever heard of the Lucifer effect?

The Lucifer effect describes the point in time when an ordinary, normal person first crosses the boundary between good and evil to engage in an evil action. This term was coined by the psychologist Phillip Zimbardo who conducted the famous Stanford Prison experiments in which normal people were grouped as 'prisoners' or 'guards'.

Within a short amount of time the guards became extremely aggressive towards the prisoners, so much that the experiment had to be shortened due to the severity of their treatment. The Lucifer effect describes when a situation turns normal 'good' people into perpetuators of immoral or 'evil' behaviors. The name comes from the mythological story that Lucifer was a good angel who became evil and was banished for his actions.

yes, And I totally believe that the moment is a conscious choice. And as such has lasting repercussions. Even so, I've seen that work in everyday life...here even. A surreptitious pm is all it takes to get the ball rolling. Now that kind of thing is something best left in grammar school.

God didn't create evil, but he gave free will which allows us to do wrong by others and thus evil was born.

Here's where I don't agree with you, Brother, but it's not easy to explain, and it's also off-topic for this thread. But let's just say that I hold a different view of what would constitute "god".

I do not believe in a personal and loving god. In my experience, the creator of the universe is merely consciousness and has no feelings at all, including love. It is simply running an experiment in self-discovery, and evil is a natural consequence of creation ─ there cannot be light without darkness, and there cannot be good without evil. Both must be allowed to exist in order for either one of them to have meaning. They are the two opposite sides of the same coin ─ the Yin and the Yang.

Your experience may differ, and that is fine. But this is my experience.
