The bird on the thumbnail of the bottom video, looks like a large pigeon or dove and moves like them. Similar breast (morphology) too.

Yes it is the NZ wood pigeon, the Kereru.

LOL. The breast on that bird is just shouting it is a good meal. New York pigeons are safe because they come across as a dirty bird but, that was not always the case. If the pigeon-poop hits the fan, New Yorkers, that can still think naturally, would have something to consider.

Tegel is a brand name in NZ for our biggest chicken meat producer.

The Kereru has a lowbrow nickname of Illegal Tegel. There has been a number of cases of people being caught with it in their freezers and fined or imprisoned. They love to eat eat eat and can sometimes be found lying bloated on the ground haha.


And yeah we have the ordinary pigeons too, those are nicknamed the flying rat, because of their disease carrying abilities.

I see a message from Nature with the the animals that follow humans into unnatural environments, like cities. Rodents and pigeons have healthy relatives in the wild. I will stop there.

I watched it first thing in the morning...it was incredible, it took me by surprise...NZ has gone through some serious stuff. I was in Australia at that time and I wasn't aware of the trouble NZ went to for the support of the Black people of South Africa. I wonder if it was just the very thing, that made a difference in the big picture. According to Nelson Mandela it was, hey?

What I do remember is that in 1984, Prime Minister David Lange barred nuclear-powered or nuclear-armed ships from using New Zealand ports or entering New Zealand waters. I was in awe thinking about it...much respect for that alone. That is showing guts!! Way to go New Zealand.
