For example, Linux Mint, or the Xubuntu distribution can be started at around 1 gb or ram or less

VirtualBox allows you to assign memory between the host and the guest (the Windows VM) so if you have 16 GB of ram, you can assign 2 gb to linux (the host) and 14 GB to the guest (Windows). Then you can also assign cpu time to the guest, like for example if you are going to run Windows full time, assign 80% of the CPU to the guest, leaving only 20 for Linux, in this way you get almost full performance but also can quite the Windows VM if something goes wrong. Worst case scenario you press the power button until the pc turns off, then restart and restore from the last good snapshot

You can also assign video memory so it runs some games in decent speed. But of course none of the cool games will run under a VM lol, it's meant for normal usage, browsing youtube at normal rates and such

If you don't do heavy games you should try it, spend some 15 days on it and you'll get it, there's a lot of info out there for Virtual Box

So in the end, you can basically use your entire cpu/memory/video ram on the Windows VM, but leave a bit for Linux so you can recover if something goes wrong.

Also you can run the VM at full screen at native resolution, so if you never stop your pc, it will just look like Windows is the host operating system, you won't even know unless you go out of full screen
cool, you've got me thinking now ... thanks!

I have a dilapidated desktop with an I7 intel CPU but the performance of the peripheral is just sad, a funny story on that is that I was shipped a couple of new monitors by a company that had hired me, and when the deal fell through I never shipped them back and apparently they didn't care that much, they stayed in their new boxes for about a year and then I 'appropriated' them. I expect the FBI to come knocking at my door anytime now. I also have a Dell gaming machine that I wasted money on because I bought it for general use and the CPU underperforms, and a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 with a shiny new performant I7 generation Intel CPU. I suppose I could run VMs on them but I need full power dedicated to development software like Visual Studio 17, 19, etc. I'm also expecting a shipment of equipment from another company that just hired me. So I have a number of choices for a setup, hmmm. I have 8 GB on the desktop, it might be a good choice just for the practice of setting up VMs. I haven't done that much work on VMs and in the last year, it has been a bit of a problem for me. Not to mention that VMs just confuse me, especially when working remotely... Limited visual abstract ability, but still a standard deviation above normal

I wish I had the patience these days to set up something like that, it's food for thought though.

She has obviously been listening very closely to Steve Vai, Andy Timmons and Joe Satriani, who has invited her for the next G4 tour as the first female guitarist to be featured on said tour. She has also shared the stage with Steve Vai.

I really love that crisp and clean sound ... very nice. Obviously, just anybody is not going to get a thumbs up from the biggies.

Just beautiful, Aragorn. I've informed my husband about her. I think he'll be quite pleased.

I prefer the studio version of this song, but the live versions are quite pleasant for the eyes too.

I had a good friend whose wife set me up with this girl. We went out to a bar with a dance floor. This girl practically dragged me onto the floor to dance with her ... to this song. Remember, this was some time before my social anxiety disorder diagnosis. I walked off the floor and left her standing, ... not the last time I've done that. That was one of the most embarrassing and traumatizing experiences of my life. The girl cut me slack apparently as she still wanted to go out again. I thought not only no but hell no was I going back to that kind of situation. And the rest is history ... lol

I always loved Boogie Woogie. These ladies were quite good. I don't think I realized they played the guitar and base.
