Santana ... The drug addled Saint ... I use to argue with my older brother about Santana's music, he was a fan of the traditional sound, I maintained that he didn't start creating music until after he left that genre. Santana always had the ability to bring me to tears. His spirit is very very deep.

It was Carlos Santana's band members that used drugs. He himself wasn't, and it was troubling him that the others were. He was however heavily into spirituality.

What went wrong?

You had done it almost right the first time, except that you had a line break both in front and behind the video identifier string. But then you changed it again and you pasted the whole URL in between the tags.

There are two ways of embedding a YouTube video. The first method is by using the filmstrip icon and pasting the complete URL ─ so not the abridged "youtu.be" link but the complete "youtube.com/watch?v=" URL ─ in the dialog box. The second method is by clicking on the YouTube icon ─ as you were doing ─ and inserting only the video identifier string in between the tags; again as you were indeed doing the first time, but without any line breaks.

I first heard Santana on MTV when they were featuring his songs from his album Supernatural. I thought that he's such a soulful player.

In the first video I linked they have four original members from the 69' Woodstock event playing. They were tripping on LSD back then.
