Here she is today, still going strong. I've loved this song with Ray Charles, she's just as good I think.

    An oldie but a goodie...

    Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ynb6_45etiE

I haven't found the formula to measure my distress
The tick-tock of my heart-clock tells my mind I'm so depressed
I searched behind the mirrors and I broke down all the walls
Is it something rare or new or is it something old?
    Is it something old?

My job it takes me everywhere but I ain't seen a thing
At eighty miles an hour rolling hills all seem the same
I've searched the mountains and the streams but I can't find a clue
Is it something old or worn or is it something new?
I go where I go (I go where I go)
    I go where I go, I don't know
It's such a silent world and an empty road
Behind that world is a pot of gold

I woke up from a deep, deep sleep and out the door I went
I didn't bother to turn back, my feet were sore and red
I searched behind the mirrors and I broke down all the walls
Is it something revenue or is it something old?
I go where I go (I go where I go)
    I go where I go, I don't know
It's such a silent world and an empty road
I go where I go (I go where I go)
    I go where I go, I don't know
It's such a silent world and an empty road
Behind that world is a pot of gold

I'm sick of greedy people who just want a piece of me
They're all so clever and so bright and modern to the T
You smell them from a mile away but I don't really care
When it comes down to the facts I laugh and walk away (Laugh and walk away)
When it comes down to the facts I laugh and walk away (Laugh and walk away)
When it comes down to the facts I laugh and walk away (Laugh and walk away)
When it comes down to the facts I laugh and walk away (Laugh and walk away)

Can't hear it but the lyrics are good. I looked them up and found a video. Good tune. Annie looks so familiar, did she do some acting?

Answering my own question, yes indeed...

I love this song. What a pair of voices. When I first heard Kate Bush sing I thought someone was altering her voice. Amazing. Thanks!

Haha, Dreamtimer, as a girl I had a high soprano voice, and loved to dance & sing along with her songs. My poor parents.

Oh, and this one from Peter Gabriel....ohhh yes....

Now that we're talking of Peter Gabriel, this is one of my favorites by him...

Mine too, Aragorn. I will admit, risking embarrassment, that before I realized the opening lines were in french, I thought it was saying, "She's so popular". I'm not sure how long it was before I learned the truth...

You and about 95% of all the people who heard this song on the radio or the record player, Sister. But then again, the articulation on those lines isn't exactly as it ought to be either, so the mistake is forgivable.
