An Evil Plot to Destroy the World

If this were not true... it would actually be funny.

The saddest part of all is that the dark ones are so confident they have the game won, they can out right tell you the truth and do so in a way that almost everyone watching thinks it is funny and knows it is true and worst of all - don't care anyways.

All the above is all and only my opinion. It may contain some sharing of components of my current operating strategy and some foundational components of my current world view - all subject to change and not meant to be true for anyone else regardless of how I phrase it.

    It's just a ride

Found this yesterday due to a discussion indicating that these memes were created along with forums like this one. This is just one example of how certain themes have been around for much longer, and it also fits with the thread I believe.

dianna, creepy and impressive. Ants are amazing.

Sam, just creepy. He fits that ad way too well.

Dracon, thanks for that. Barney Miller, who knew?

    JByas, disturbing!

Remember this? Calvin and Hobbes are lying down looking at a book and Calvin reads, "It says here that religion is the opiate of the masses."

In the next frame we see the TV with a thought bubble, "They ain't seen nothin' yet."

Have you noticed on Hulu the most popular shows are generally animated cartoons?

JByas, that photo sadly says it all.

Right in your face with the TV commercial on Hulu.

I have seen plenty of kids looking just like those in the picture above while "watching" TV. You say something to the "parent" and they are like whaaaaat? Zombies is exactly right!
I have always said folks should shoot their TVs...can not stand them.

Ha, really? Barney Miller...my father use to watch that show...yeah, who knew!

Do not watch TV myself, although I have one but not plugged in to the matrix. Only plug in for DVDs only of my choosing.

WOW, Thanks everyone, truely cemented enlightening.

    Sam,

Everyone thinks it's funny and knows it's true? That second part is a huge leap. How do you or anyone know that everyone "knows it's true"?

    They don't. That's why they're asleep. That's why they're zombies.

How are you gonna wake them up, Sam?

Are you trying to wake us up? Motivate us to awaken others?

Are you just trying to convince everyone that we've sold the farm and there's no point?

I'm really unsure what your motives are.

Pinocchio was just a lifeless puppet too, right up until the fairy godmother gave her wand a wave.

I am delighted with all the posts in this thread even those with reference to characters I don't recognize.

I began life before TV was a consumer product. It came along before my younger sisters were born. They never enjoyed reading the way the eldest preTV kids in our family. I remember when cable TV first came along and it was ad free and so we changed and once enough families did, the ads appeared.

Later in graduate school the question was: are kids conditioned by violence on TV? Even the Ph.D. Stanford educated professor provided studies disputing this. I was dumb founded. How could corporations continue their TV ads if they were not generating sales, yet research was "proving" it was not influencing children. Duh.

I wonder about another thing in our daily lives: buzzers. We can no longer automatically wake up without them. Cars buzzing us to put on our seat belts, smoke detectors buzzing to warn us of nonexistent household fires. Put that together with smart meters mounted on the exterior of our homes. They can collect data and "observe" us and it sure feels as if we are being trained to respond to buzzers no matter what the future beams to us through them. We are being dumbed down to be ruled by sound rather than beaten by whips.....
