My husband was talking about this last night, wondering who it is who gives a permit for right wing demonstrations on the campus of one of the most liberal colleges in the country where a deadly shooting happened a few years ago?

Who's the genius who thinks that's a good idea? Why do the white's rights folks feel the need to go there? Do they really think it's the heart of communism?

There is a pathological hatred of educational institutions happening in this country that is nothing but stupid and becoming dangerous.

I would 'debate' the point of war as the ultimate profit making scheme. In an international economy, peace can be more profitable for all concerns including the 'little people". So the question precipitates down to why war when peace can function as well, if not better? Good vs Evil?!

War is good for the military-industrial complex, and the banks are hedging. They support both sides of the conflict, and whoever wins, once the war has ended, there are going to be great opportunities for investment in cleaning up the mess and rebuilding the infrastructure. And that is actually the real reason as to why the USA got involved in World War II. Irritating the Japanese to the point where they attacked Pearl Harbor was merely part of the plan, so as to provide for a "just cause" to those in the US government who opposed getting involved in the war against the Nazis, given that Japan was an ally to the Nazi regime in Germany.

Furthermore, all modern wars are instigated by the USA, who are the main purveyors of militarism, capitalism and corporatism — in other words, fascism in the true sense of the word. Therefore, supporting wars in which the USA are involved — which in this day and age means "all of them" — is always considered a good strategy for forcing political and economical changes favorable to the corporate world upon a country or region that has until hitherto resisted such changes.

In the end, it's all about the expansion of the empire — the financial-economic hegemony of the banks, supported by the military hegemony of the United States of Acronyms.

As an aside, this is also one of the main reasons as to why socialism has so far never worked. No country is ever going to be 100% self-sufficient, and thus any socialist nation will always have to engage in trade negotiations with other nations, while at the same time the rules for international trade are set by the capitalist world.

Countries like North Korea and North Vietnam can circumvent this problem somewhat through the logistical support they get from China, but China itself can already no longer be called a 100% socialist nation. Even the former Soviet Union had its oligarchs, and this is no different in China today. Furthermore, the standards of living in North Korea are pretty bad due to that country actually not having a genuinely socialist regime. It is simply a militarily controlled dictatorship with a covert caste system and a feudal culture.
