    Humbled By Our Younglings

The things our young ones say and do never cease to humble me. Myself and my wife were just sorting through some clothes to donate to a homeless charity just now. My youngest son suddenly burst out sobbing with an overwhelming air of deep sadness about him. Worried, we asked repeatedly what was wrong and he simply replied:

"I just want a house that's big enough for all of the homeless to have somewhere to sleep"

God bless him and all those in his thoughts.

Please feel free to add your own experiences and lessons taught to us by the wisest people on the planet!

    :unity:

I can see why you're proud and humbled. Progress happens when the apprentice overtakes the master :-)

Some of my little cousins were due to attend a party with a lot of kids they didn't know. I was with my cousin (the mother of one of the two and aunt to the other) and we overheard a little exchange they had. One of them is more reserved and shy whereas the other is very outgoing, confident and assured.

They were eight (the reserved one) and nine (the outgoing one). The eight year old said he wasn't sure whether it was going to be fun and the nine year old asked him why. He told her that he was nervous, and she turned to look him straight in the eye and, in the strangest combination of serious and flippant I've ever heard, said "just be yourself. That's the person I love and I know about these things." Then they skipped off together while my cousin and I gave each other one of those looks.
