British father does world a favour...

First photographs of British boxer arrested for 'killing German paedophile with one punch'
    Link

Photographs have emerged of a British man arrested on suspicion of killing a suspected German paedophile with one punch after he found him filming his young daughter on his iPad.
Devinder Kainth, 40, is said to have attacked Sandro Rottman, 43, who was arrested over child pornography a few days before his death, at Spinnaker restaurant in Sotogrande, on the Costa del Sol in Spain.
Mr Kainth, a boxer and gym fanatic who goes by the name Victor, allegedly threw Mr Rottman's iPad to the ground on Sunday after seeing him filming his young daughter, who is believed to be under the age of eight.

He is being held at high security Botafuegos Prison, in the southern port of Algeciras, the Daily Mail reported, after reportedly knocking Mr Rottman to the ground with a single punch.
The owner of the Spinnaker restaurant told the Mail that after an afternoon of "friendly chatter", the British man told his family to leave.
"Devinder looked at Sandro's iPad and found pictures of his family which had been taken earlier that evening," he said. "Five seconds later he hit Sandro so hard he fell to the floor."
A staff member who watched CCTV footage of the incident added: "He dragged him along the floor like a dog."

Mr Rottman, who some reported as having a drink problem, died in hospital of his injuries.
According to police, says before the attack, Mr Rottman had been charged with possessing child pornography and was awaiting trial, but it is not known whether Mr Kainth, who has appeared before a magistrate and been remanded in custody on suspicion of homicide, was aware of the fact.
Mr Rottman, who was a web designer, recently posted a photo on Twitter of himself at the exclusive resort of El Octogono Beach Club in Sotogrande, holding a young child. He wrote: 'Just finished a day with the most beautiful girl in the Beach Club of Sotogrande. Hope one day I will have one my own.'

Mr Kainth's partner Gemma Hawkins, 31, the mother of his daughter and two sons, has been interviewed by police.
A Foreign Office spokesman said: "We stand ready to provide consular assistance if requested."

We are littered with murdering pedophiles who don't get arrested.

O so quick to arrest some one who murders one.

I can just hear, "we must be seen to be upholding the law."

Well...that ones dead anyway. Hopefully Vic will get manslaughter or similar and do it in the UK.

Setting precedents is a big worry for society, I think I could live with the ramifications of one that issued the death penalty for child abuse, it sends the Right message: Protect that which is most sacred with the most vigilance.

There are lesser charges than that, no one punching someone expects to kill them, esp with two fit men of about the same age.

    Its certainly not murder.

It's not going to look good for Spain as a family holiday destination if they go heavy on a guy who has every damn right to punch the *( insert suitable swear word(s) here )*

I hope it is a lesser, I have heard of plenty of one-punch kill cases before this but not in this context. The context, which like a big pink pachyderm for every father shouts "WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN THE SAME SITUATION?" .... I cant imagine being able to fairydust away my darkside on that day...

Pray they don't treat him harshly being he's a trained fighter as I know lots of martial artists have been considered "Dangerous Weapons" without needing any actual weapon just the lethal training aspect alone, most wholly barred from ever using their training in public situations. I cant remember one that I know that ever did refrain however lol

Unfortunately since this man is a boxer and he killed the pedophile with his hands . . . let alone one punch . . . it would be the same as someone else using a gun to kill someone.

His ‘hands’ will be considered ‘deadly weapons’.

At least this is a law in the States.

Yeah, unfortunately Foxfire is right; at the least it would be aggravated assault w/ a deadly weapon and most likely 3rd deg. murder(manslaughter) with the possibility of 2nd deg.

Still, I'm rooting for 'justifiable homicide'. ^_~

Correct , once you reach a certain level of proficientcy in self defence you go on a list , Australian police have this on your driving record and they get a warning on their COPS system screen saying " Approach With Caution " if they pull you over.

If you have these skills you must give 3 audible warnings to your opponent before defending your self and you must only use reasonably opposing force.

The charges would depend on the circumstances surrounding the event

the father had no prior knowledge of the other mans previous crimes so it was not pre meditated

he hit him but did the hit kill the man or did he have pre existing condition making him frail ? did the fall kill him as oppose to the strike ?

did the father have probable cause for gross provocation from the pedophile ? seeing that he took photos of his family on private property without permission which is illegal.

The courts have to be very careful how they go forward with this case, i think he will get a good result with gross emotional provocation... if his lawyer is good they can show the court that he acted with richeous protectiveness , as custodian and protector of the family , the father has certain rights and responsabilities which are considered by the courts.

True, but they will have to prove in court that the father was acting in a defensive capacity, otherwise it would be aggravated assault. While the perp was obviously violating the law and the rights of the child/family, there is no clear and present physical threat toward the child that was mediated by the attack. Premeditation only applies to 1st deg. murder, 2nd degree is 'crime of passion' (I.e. in the moment).

And, while there are exceptions that can be observed as to the manslaughter/2nd degree charge, being a boxer by profession (lethal fists) carries with it the added consideration that he is proficient enough with his fists to engage in or restrain himself from the severity of his strikes; being that the guy was out w/ one punch, that will be a tough case to argue IMO; a hearty shove or a jab to the gut might have been as effective as a 1-punch KO, and avoided the guy's death. I'd wager the prosecution will push heavily on the fact that the perp cannot argue in his own defense and this is doubly precarious as he never made it to court to argue against his initial charges (hence, innocent until proven guilty).

If I'm rooting for anything it's him acquitted of all charges and awarded a commendation for his service to the human species.

    . . . .. . .. .

I live in a very remote area of the Appalachians where the ‘mountain code’ is still in effect and I saw the code in full action this past summer.

A man was brought to trial at our county courthouse for a brutal rape of a young girl of 14 (?), he got off on some sort of stupid technicality.

When the man walked out of the courthouse the father and older brother of the raped child were waiting for him. With the police and crowd watching they nearly beat the man to death . . . . put him in the hospital for a month.

He was told not to ever come back to the area . . . . if he does, he will never be seen again.

    Mountain Justice . . . . .

    . . . . .

People are happy to kill a chicken for something as common as food, or a human for something as justifiable as murder, but when another human destroys the innocence and life of a child/person we actually debate their right to exist as if they didn't just forfeit it with their psychopathy. I know chickens aren't people but to some they are worth more.

What many don't understand is how much death is a release for many of these "past-rehabilitation" goners, incapable of change and relentless in their activities. As is evidenced by the above scum still continuing to film other peoples kids while awaiting trial. Luckily, fate agrees with me and has prevented Mr Rottman from ever possibly fulfilling his dream of having "one of his own".
