Well, since 10/3 has passed, I went back to see if I could find anything of importance that happened that day or that would give us a clue . . .

The only thing I saw was this:

Press Briefing on Government Response to the Ebola Epidemic in West Africa, 10/3/2014. I'm just pulling out the part that I thought could fit:

"As the President has said, we are not facing just a health crisis, we are facing a national security priority, and it's one that he has instructed his team is as important as any threat we're facing."

I also wondered if it had nothing to do with the calendar date Oct 3; but was possibly connected to this instead.

First: 10/3/2014 could be broken down this way: 10 + 3 + 13 and 2014 = 2+0+1+4 = 7 So we have 7 and 13, which seem to have always been important numbers.

And, this may be a stretch, but in the year 1307 (on October 13, which was a Friday ) all knights templars in France we seized and placed under arrest by the King and all their wealth confiscated.
Jacques de Molay the Grand Master of the Templars was eventually roasted over a slow-pit fire. This allegedly is the event that caused Friday the 13th to be a bad luck day.
