The Ancient Giants Who Ruled America: The Missing Skeletons and the Great Smithsonian Cover-Up

I ran across this book surfing the net and thought it would be an interesting read... haven't read it yet but plan to. Some may have already read it.

    by Richard J. Dewhurst (paperback)

A study of the substantial evidence for a former race of giants in North America and its 150-year suppression by the Smithsonian Institution

Shows how thousands of giant skeletons have been found, particularly in the Mississippi Valley, as well as the ruins of the giants cities

Explores 400 years of giant finds, including newspaper articles, first person accounts, state historical records, and illustrated field reports

Reveals the Stonehenge-era megalithic burial complex on Catalina Island with over 4,000 giant skeletons, including kings more than 9 feet tall

Includes more than 100 rare photographs and illustrations of the lost evidence

Drawing on 400 years of newspaper articles and photos, first person accounts, state historical records, and illustrated field reports, Richard J. Dewhurst reveals not only that North America was once ruled by an advanced race of giants but also that the Smithsonian has been actively suppressing the physical evidence for nearly 150 years. He shows how thousands of giant skeletons have been unearthed at Mound Builder sites across the continent, only to disappear from the historical record. He examines other concealed giant discoveries, such as the giant mummies found in Spirit Cave, Nevada, wrapped in fine textiles and dating to 8000 BCE; the hundreds of red-haired bog mummies found at sinkhole cenotes on the west coast of Florida and dating to 7500 BCE; and the ruins of the giants cities with populations in excess of 100,000 in Arizona, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Louisiana.

Dewhurst shows how this suppression began shortly after the Civil War and transformed into an outright cover-up in 1879 when Major John Wesley Powell was appointed Smithsonian director, launching a strict pro-evolution, pro-Manifest Destiny agenda. He also reveals the 1920s discovery on Catalina Island of a megalithic burial complex with 6,000 years of continuous burials and over 4,000 skeletons, including a succession of kings and queens, some more than 9 feet tallthe evidence for which is hidden in the restricted-access evidence rooms at the Smithsonian.

Just came across this article titled The Ancient Giants of Nevada and the Mystery of Lovelock Cave

Was North America once inhabited by a race of giants? According to an old legend supported by several challenging archaeological finds, it is possible.

Many Native American tribes tell stories about the long-forgotten existence of a race of humans that were much taller and stronger than ordinary men. These giants are described as both brave and barbaric and legends often mention their cruelty towards whomever they pleased.

The Paiute, a tribe that settled in the Nevada region thousands of years ago, have an outstanding legend about a race of red-haired giants called the Si-Te-Cah. The ancestors of the Paiute described them as savage and inhospitable cannibals.

In the Northern Paiute language, Si-Te-Cah literally means tule-eaters. Legend has it that the giants came from a distant island by crossing the ocean on rafts built using the fibrous tule plant.

The file is about 9 MB so it's too big to include in an attachment here. I've uploaded it to two places:

Thank you bsbray for sharing, I've wanted to read this book too. I managed to download part 1. Don't know where part 2 is yet (not in any hurry though, with 394 pages to read).

The "mound builders" were in tune with earth energy. We are pygmies in our understanding of the power of place. These energies are at work in war and peace.

Amman, Jordan- City of Brotherly Love at the Crossroads of War
    by Peter Champoux

The following information gives perspective to the 'troubles' that plague the Middle East. This study narrative is based on geomancy. Geomancy is a subtle science identifying geographic patterns. One such pattern is a ley line, the coherence of nature and culture in a straight line across a yard, city, region, or planet. The two leys discussed in this article cross in Amman: one Arabic (for lack of a better term) and the other European (for lack of a better term),.

Amman, Jordan, in Roman times, was known as Philadelphia. Like the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania of old America, an ocean away, Philadelphia, Jordan of today is a keystone of religious tolerance, brotherly love and constitutional justice. The intent of this article is to show just how important Amman is to the world and to peace to in the Middle East.

What are these ley lines of the Middle East ? Each war, each conflict, each death sets a memory into the earth. Histories of violence coalesce, spilling into ley lines of violence - wounds aggravated by disposition. After all these centuries, millenniums of war, a deep pattern is embedded in the planet. Examining the chaotic patterns of conflict a coherence emergesÐ a focus or road of war leading to the Middle East.

Some years ago a colleague introduced me to a trans-global alignment of cities. At the time it was interpreted as a spine of culture. This European alignment, or cultural coalescence, courses through Mexico City, Atlanta GA, Washington DC, Baltimore MD, Philadelphia PA, Trenton NJ, NYC, New Haven, Boston MA, through Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Dublin, London, Belgium, the Franco-German border, Kosova, Haifa Israel and Janin on the West Bank- Amman Jordan and into Saudi Arabia. Over the past 600 years, this ley line has been entrained with European adventures from the conquest of Mexico by the Spanish Empire, to the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, the Croatian War, the Bosnian War, the Kosova War, Waterloo, the Battle of the Bulge, the Irish War of Independence, The Bombing of London, the American Revolutionary and Civil Wars, the War of 1812, WTC 9-11, with world wars, revolutions and riots interspersed. http://www.geometryofplace.com/amman.html

The idea of a ‘sacred landscape’ is foundational for cultures
worldwide. A sacred landscape is a seed of consciousness
in both earth and mind that roots a People to the land with
a sense of holiness and mutual love of place. Many world
heritage sites are landscapes treasured as such for their
spiritual bounty. Sacred landscapes are places of collective
spiritual identity. They are a place apart welcoming spirit to take rest in the
Land, a common ground for the spirits of the people.
Japan’s Mount Fuji, Arabia’s Mecca, India’s Ganges, Tibet’s Mount Kailash,
and America’s sacred lands tend to be blood-soaked or defused into
nonexistence in an ego-centric egalitarian esthetic. Where is North America’s
Shangri-La? Its focus? Its center? Its moral compass? The American psyche
yearns for a mythic land. A place where the restless American spirit can call
    home—the seat of its soul.
North America is a living land the people called “turtle island,” partly
because it looks like a turtle. It is also named after the turtle creation story.
North America can easily be seen as this great turtle, just as clouds and
flowers give metaphor and geometry to summer days, telling us stories of
becoming, giving the heart wonder. Sacred landscapes are Creation’s gift
drawing us into the wonder of the heart.
Yes, Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, the Black Hills are each
sacred landscapes. But in the American vernacular: sacred plus land equals
the Native peoples of the Four Corner region, in total. Ask any native
American and they’ll say that all is sacred. And it is. Yet each tribe had
its own special place of ‘manitou’ reserved for higher power. Where is the
American tribe’s center of higher power?
If North America is a living landscape with its Great Lake lungs and
Mississippi blood, where is the seat of its soul. The Lakota appreciate the
Black Hills as the heart of the world, whereas the Hopi see their Mesas as its
heart. Surely given its red rock, water and native people Colorado Plateau’s
‘four corners’ region can be seen as the heart, with the Colorado River its
    main artery.
The seat of the soul in all humans remains a mystery, never mind America’s
soul. It is generally accepted in native circles that an animal’s soul is seated in
the liver. Its warm life force is shared at the kill by hunters in gratitude with
All That Is. While our soul may seat in our liver at birth, where it drives the
will, the soul moves to the heart with acts of spiritual merit.
Peter Champoux Ark of Antero, America’s Sacred Landscape
