Seems odd ... don't you think ... that we have to go "off topic" to offer a musical protest against war???

... on a "alternative type news" forum???

War. What is it good for?

    Loosh and profits.

You don't have to. You could start a thread... . . if you choose.

War is good for bonding people. There are so many different nationalities in the street where I live - somalis to my left and latin americans to my right. we cannot communicate properly and part of me thinks the government mean us all to feel isolated and away from "our packs". However, when that time comes, I feel it in my water that my neighbours and all of us will unite against the common foe . . . . hey - might even find another use for that bloody great big blue container in the garden too lol

Bonding needs to happen without war. A bigger war to override the dysfunctions of society is not good medicine.

We are in a war, as it is. It is creating some bonding but, how tenuous? Will it fall apart once the common enemy is gone?

War as a bonding agent has been a band-aid. I see the Internet, despite chaff and chum. as the great global connector right now.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change
Courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference

I am not like I was before
I thought that nothing would change me
    I was not listening anymore

Still you continued to affect me
    I was not thinking anymore
Although I said I still was

    I'd said "I don't want anymore"
    Because of bad experience
But now I feel so different

    I feel so different
    I feel so different

I have not seen freedom before
And I did not expect to
Don't let me forget now I'm here

Help me to help you to behold you
I started off with many friends
And we spent a long time talking

I thought they meant every word they said
But like everyone else they were stalling
And now they seem so different

    They seem so different
    They seem so different

I should have hatred for you
But I do not have any
And I have always loved you

Oh you have taught me plenty
The whole time I'd never seen
All you had spread before me

The whole time I'd never seen
All I'd need was inside me
    Now I feel so different

    I feel so different
    I feel so different

    I feel so different
    I feel so different

One of my favourites from her MTV unplugged set (the entire set is amazing btw), the stupidly talented singer, song writer, dancer, actor, guitarist and rapper......Lauren Hill.
