    Benefits of Blackstrap Molasses

Always been fascinated by blackstrap molasses.

Cows are fed this as a staple nutrient, but somehow this beneficial molasses is not advertised as beneficial to us humans.

Makes sense, cows make money - milk, meat etc, so it pays to keep them healthy.

Of course there are too many of us according to the plan, so let's keep us out of the loop.

Check out the benefits of organic blackstrap molasses:

    Hi Tribe,

Oh, so it doesn't taste so good eh? Oh well....

I plan on adding it to my daily green smoothy, I need a bit of sweetness to make it go down. The Raw Cacao powder I add now is quite bitter so I need a bit of sweet, lol!

When I was a kid on our little farm we gave the stock good stuff as supplements. I remember the molasses. I tried it too ( and liked it ). In the winter, the sheep would get big salty blocks to lick. Well, it tasted salty to me when I tried it but dad said it was magnesium, to help the ewes get through lambing in better shape.

There wasn't ANYTHING the animals ate that I didn't try at least once. Errrr... ok, I didn't eat hay, but I did try to smoke it

On 'flavours', have you tried Apple and Garlic?

I've never made a smoothy in my life but I found the combination was good.

Hello Sooze, that was a very interesting post I used to have it daily in my early childhood so I like the taste of molasses. I am not familiar with blackstrap molasses as I live in Scotland but I am definitely going to search for it as it has been many years since I used it, and I had no idea of its nutritional value, thank you kindly Sooze.this is valuable information. gardener x

Hi Sooz, i use blackstrap molasses in some baking in place of sugar. I really like the warm flavour it brings, especially if combined with ginger and cinnamon. To me it tastes somewhat like licorice straight from the jar. Ive even drunk it of an evening in a cup of hot milk (1 tspoon)-yummy
