Start of Revolution in Nevada USA?

My spidey senses are crackling with this one.

Cliven Bundy is taking on the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) over his 600,000 acres his ancestors have farmed since the 1870's. He has been frantically courting the alternative and mainstream media the last few days and his story is fast gaining traction. He says he 'will do whatever it takes'.

Alex Jones started covering this a few days ago and I've kept my beady eyes on it. The BLM have been tasering the small group of protesters, and now I've just read that 5,000 citizen militias are making their way to the ranch in Nevada.

Alarmingly, it has been declared that the area is to be free of restrictions of the constitution, i.e., the 1st amendment - the right to assemble and speak freely. Uh Oh.

It will be interesting to see how this story develops and how msm will try to spin it.

This could be history in the making - back story here with several vids in link below.

Mike Adams has a good article just up as well - regarding the government wanting that land for fracking - here:

PS: I forgot the funny bit - supposedly armed snipers, helicopters and surveillance is about saving an endangered species of tortoise....yep good one that!

I read an interesting post at PA. The poster seemed to be talking from publicly available knowledge from the way he phrased it, IIRC. Anyway, he states that the Bundy family has leased that property since 1880 and does not have a title for it. Furthermore, they have not paid rent on this land since 1998. Basically, they are being evicted for non-payment. Why now? So the gov't can lease the land out to frackers. There are no good guys in this story.

Except those who turned out to support Bundy. If they have been duped, and it looks like they may have been, they responded heroically to it IMO.

As sooz says, watching this story unfold should be interesting. Fuses are long but, they've come perilously close to being lit.

From what I understand, in 1993 the government issued a tax rule that farmers had to pay 'grazing fees' on public land for their livestock, (apparently 80% of Nevada is public land?), in order to dissuade farmers from endangering a species of tortoises. (Yeah right, apparently they were culling them a few years ago).

The Bundy family have had a long running dispute with these fees and have refused to pay them to this day. It's all a bit murky, but here is a link of 5 short facts:

Here are two pieces of coverage that tell of Bundy's situation with the land. One is from Fox but, written in a style that showed no signs of hyperbole. I guess its hard to pick a side for them in this one.

This is something a bit close to my heart, because my family could have this coming to them sometime soon.
Not saying anymore than that on a public forum.

    Agenda 21 anyone?

We bring you now the latest from the Bundy Ranch, where the militia has arrived in support of Cliven Bundy in his stand off against the Federal Government, where the Bureau of Land Management has surrounded his ranch with snipers, helicopters and heavy equipment.

Governor Sandoval and Sen. Dean Heller have condemned the actions of the BLM:

The governor has released a statement: "No cow justifies the atmosphere of intimidation which currently exists nor the limitation of constitutional rights that are sacred to all Nevadans."

Sheriff Richard Mack, of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, has declared the Governor's words to be, just that - WORDS - and that immediate action on the part of the Governor should be take to call off the pending Range War.

Radio Host Pete Santilli of Guerrilla Media Network, is standing by on the scene where the Militia has arrived to support the Bundy Family.

Rusty Hill a former Land Broker who worked in that area for nearly 20 years issued this to our news room,

"It is not about turtles it is about water. There are developers working for military contractors that want that land and water for mining weapons grade minerals for industry... they want to sell the land by the highway for real estate development because it's close to I-15 and the Bundy's have been refusing to sell what they actually own directly for over 20 years. Many buyers sent me out there with crazy offers for that land for many years. It is prime real estate not worthless desert. There is a natural gas pipeline going through there and lots of water under ground too. Somebody connected to a military corporation is using political power and the BLM to muscle those people out."

We go now to Pete Santilli on the scene where the Militia has arrived.

I talked to my nephew yesterday, he's a BLM employee
and years ago worked on this case, which has been dragging out for decades,
    over many gov't administrations.
turns out the rancher had lost control of the land in question long ago.
nevertheless, he continues to use it, plus grazing on other private property, so
this dispute goes beyond a 'we the people' stand.
my response was that if the BLM is in the right, then they have a huge PR deficit.
turns out the BLM doesn't care.
to put it in perspective, my nephew is not a big gov't wonk, just calling it like it is.
this case, being dealt with now, in our justified culture of big gov't distrust, comes
at a bad time for those who are dealing with this dispute.
so, looks like this rancher has started his own 'eminent domain' crusade and
    will not win.

That may be the bone of contention, If his family has got something in writing dating from the 1800s.

The 'law' is how people get split into two side over stuff like this. It's as if the law has been designed to separate us.

I don't know anything about US law, and very little about UK law, but I've got it in my head that no new law can encroach upon an old one to the extent that it wipes it out, without a specific repealing of the old one first.

It sounds like Bundy needs a good lawyer to get stuck into the intricacies of the issue. Bundy may well have lost his rights to graze the land but it's all too easy for modern trendies to 'dream' their way past written law just because they are focused on something else, like the rare creature mentioned that also lives on that land.

I do hope he's in the right, otherwise this is going to be a home goal for the freedom people everywhere.

I've been thinking about this while walking the dog, and it occurred to me that its actually pretty much irrelevant whether Bundy is within the "law" or not, there is a rising pressure in the US, riding on a tide of injustice & downright criminality by those in office, and its just looking for the right time & place to burst forth, and this could be it.

I strongly suspect that this stuff has more to do with symbolism when it comes to the American heart, and this is about as symbolic as it gets.

8 pizzas equals 64 slices. At 2 slices each, 34 can eat. I guess every little bit helps. Militias do not seem too interested in showing up. Given their memberships, it would seem that less than one percent have arrived on the site. I wonder how this will end?

Being "IT" may not be such a good thing.

Is it possible that the art of choosing the right fights has been practiced here by the 'authorities'?

The greatest likelihood, if this gets big, is that the dense populations of the cities, especially the ones who don't think much, will, from a quick look, see a bureaucratic attempt to make some land more 'universal' than just a grass n herbs range for a bunch of 'wealthy' farmers.

In the big numbers game, a battle for the hearts and minds of the majority, isn't likely to go in Bundy's favor. The frustrated people in the cities may not connect well with who Bundy is and what he really stands for.

Well, let's see. I might be underestimating the American masses.

    now this makes sense.
after all of these years, why would
the rancher be forced out now?
the gov't plans to partner with china
to install a vast solar farm.
    documents related to these plans
have been removed from the BLM website.

so, really, really expensive power owned by two gov'ts
is more important than putting food on the table.
    natch.
the BLM might own the land, but this is why
they would destroy a rancher's livestock and living?
    that's big gov't out-of-control.
armed militia are moving in to the area.
    stay tuned...

It doesn't matter who starts this, but it seems to me, that anything can be the trigger for a justified revolution. Anyone who thinks this was going to be bloodless is not alive in light. There are far higher stakes in this and it is now time we decide, do we want this darkness in our lives anymore. If not then how do we get it out of us.

This may become one of the greater awakening events thus far in the states and in the western world for that matter.
