One of the dynamics that we are dealing with in Europe is the 'race' memory of populations who lived under Soviet Russia. At least two generations having their genetics and culture shaped by the oppressive Soviet Bear. This coding is like the coding of a chicken reacting to a hawk overhead. It is instinctual. It is a program that runs and creates their reality. That the Bear is no longer a grizzly and is now a black bear that requires prodding to get ornery, is not perceived. For them, a bear is a bear and it strikes fear into their marrow.

This is why Poland is such a willing dupe for the West. They are on the wrong side of history, IMO but, I can see out of their eyes and it very different from my own. American Citizens Can and Should Be Doing About the Ukrainian Crisis

There’s no easy way to put this, but the job American citizens have in the Ukrainian crisis is to get our government the hell out of the affairs of their country.

There is obviously an organic movement in Ukraine against the injustice of it’s government, then again there is an organic resistance to government in nearly every country because nobody likes government, we all know that. But, as is the case in most of the recent revolutions from Egypt to Syria, the US government and other international actors seek to open a power vacuum and then fill it with their own hand picked bureaucrats. This can’t end well for the common Ukrainian.

Whether we’re talking about Russian strong men asserting their big oil ambitions, or US backed central bankers being placed in the highest levels of the new government, the people of Ukraine will likely lose the voice they fought in the streets to gain. Ukraine is very influential in European trade, it’s the bread basket of the EU and the near East, contains the oil pipelines that feed Western Europe Russian gas and has a highly strategic port fortress that has been fought over for centuries; this is why Russian strong men and US imperialists seek to destabilize and control the area.

While the mainstream media has decided to ignore the facts, Russian spies had phones in the US embassy in Ukraine tapped and recorded a conversation between US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and US ambassador to Ukraine revealing premeditated plans to destabilize the country and place their hand picked puppet, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, into power. What has become very clear in the recent years is that any country that seeks change via revolution will be attempted to be co-opted by the US or propped up by Russia or vice versa, hijacking the organic movement and turning into an establishment “color revolution” that sweeps puppets into power or protects the existing government.

Americans, as do Russians, have a big problem on their hands. A very big problem that has been in the making since the dawn of civilization: government. People all around the world are tired of government that does not represent them, they are tired of paying for a government which acts without their consent. People are standing up to their governments at record levels all around the globe, unfortunately the same process keeps recurring similar to what I have mentioned earlier in this article. Revolutions occur; kinetic, social and natural resources are wasted and in the end nothing really changes. That has to change.

I can’t tell you exactly what Russia is doing in Ukraine, most of the news stories are so skewed that it’s really impossible to say exactly. However, as Americans, the Russian government is not our problem unless they are harming Americans in America. Our problem is the US government sticking it’s nose into foreign affairs. Our problem is the US government loaning $1 billion dollars to the new Ukrainian government while our own people starve in the streets. Our problem is 900 military bases in 150 different countries. Our problem is the “land of the free” is now also the land of the largest prison population, both per capita and in total numbers, in the history of the world. Our problem is that the only agency in the government that actually listens to us is the NSA, and it’s when we don’t want them listening.

Unfortunately for the world, our government is also their problem. In fact, recent polling suggests that according to people asked all around the world, America is by and far the greatest threat to peace with Iran coming in a distant second. We are notorious for overthrowing democratically elected governments in the name of democracy. We are the bullies. We are the Roman empire and you and me are the new Roman citizens. I hate to break it to you, but our government is the largest terrorist organization in the history of mankind and each and every one of us is guilty of funding it every time we pay taxes. We have blood on our hands and there’s just no getting around that fact.

Now back to the title of this article and what it is Americans can do about the Ukrainian crisis.

What can we do about Russia invading Ukraine? Not much really. That’s up to Russian citizens and Ukraine to solve. As I stated earlier in this post, people all over the world have beef with their government and the Russians are no different than the rest of us. Unless Russia begins invading the United States and starts killing Americans, there isn’t much I can say about Russia other than the fact that I think Putin is a totalitarian scumbag; much like his counterparts in umm…yeah, basically every other country in the world. We can boycott Russian goods and encourage our Russian comrades to take control of their own government.

Here’s the real question: what can we do to stop the US government from instigating these phony crisis’ all around the world? How can we stop them from spending our tax money to murder innocents to enrich their corporate handlers, depriving billions of people of hope while bankrupting the globe and sending our young men to die in pointless and unwinnable wars?

The first step is spreading information. Share this article and any more like it that you come across. If you ever thought about joining the new media, blogging, making videos, doing interviews or just thinking of starting a Facebook page to spread awareness, do it. Do it now. Here’s a great guide to getting started that we posted about a while back: How to Become a Citizen Journalist. Turn off the TV. The “mainstream media” is 95% owned by merely 6 mega corporations which means they don’t represent you, they represent the elite. The mainstream media will broadcast Obama saying that he stands with Ukrainians and will defend their rights, all the while our rights at home are nearly gone and not one question or comment about this hypocrisy. The MSM will broadcast John Kerry (with a straight face) saying that “You just don’t in the 21st century behave in 19th century fashion by invading another country on completely trumped up pre-text” and not even ask him about the trumped up pretext to invade Iraq or bomb Libya. Are we living in George Orwell’s 1984? Follow blogs with independent writers, subscribe to their email newsletters, follow Facebook pages that spread real info, subscribe to twitter feeds that post from good websites, and most importantly of all share as much information with your close friends and family about what the hell is going on in this country outside of Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and Duck Dynasty.

Starve the beast. The government can only commit these atrocities abroad if they continue to have a willing tax base that just keeps blindly paying. Engage in direct tax civil disobedience, experiment with alternative forms of currency. Not just Bitcoin or gold and silver, get creative. Try this: 10 steps to creating your own local currency. Work with your neighbors to establish bartering channels. The less transactions with corporations, with dollars, or with credit cards, the less money the government can skim off the top to keep the empire moving. Once you establish a diversified local economy around you, withdraw all or most of your money from the bank. If you absolutely must have a bank account then make sure it’s a local credit union and not Goldman Sachs. Chances are the banking system is coming down either way so you should be prepared for that regardless.

Grow a garden. Trade your excess food to friends or give it to the needy. If you don’t have a yard ask someone who does if you can plant food in it and share some of the food with them. If you have a yard but no time to garden, place a sign in your yard letting people know that they can garden it if they want to. If you’re in the city buy your food from farmer’s markets, food co-ops, CSAs or plant a garden on your roof top. Understand that when the tax base dries up the first cuts will be to welfare, food stamps and to the elderly: You have to help them now. If we really want to make a change every single able bodied person must help take care of the less fortunate and needy, whether you feed someone, clothe someone or house someone. When the government stops doing it (they have basically already stopped) you have to do it, so start now. Opt out of the system at every turn. While it may be a bit inconvenient, think of the payoff in the end: peace and freedom. Use Craigslist for items you need or things you have to sell. Work in cash only if you are unable to establish and alternate form of currency. The lesson here is simple: I won’t pay my taxes until I feel the government represents me. Which basically means never.

Give them hell. Take to the airwaves and to the streets. Take a friend with you to hand our some flyers. Put a sign over the freeway overpass. Get active in your community to activate your community. Start protests and marches and keep doing them until we win. Remember that the problem is big, but each of us can create a small solution in our area. A million small solutions amount to one huge problem for the establishment. Let them know that we are on to them. Call your “representatives” and tell them that we’ve had enough. We don’t need violence, we need ideas and people to work those ideas and anyone reading this can be part of that solution. Disobey the state at every possible chance including when encountering police. Learn your rights and your limits and use them to create fractures in the control grid.

Becoming the media, defeating Wall Street, undermining the strongest empire in history, revolutionizing the food system all seem like huge monolithic tasks..and they are. I’ll end this with two quotes from Howard Zinn:

The delegation from the Crimean Parliament, which said it would put the decision to a public vote on March 16, headed to Moscow on Friday and got a very different reaction.

I saw that Abbey Martin reaction - and was shocked. Would have expected better from her. I had several friends who are staunch democrats call me and say they saw it on MSNBC news, which they interpreted as: Even people in Russia are against what Putin's doing - so we have to go in and help those poor people.

Haven't been watching of late - wonder if she made a retraction after getting herself educated on the matter. although even if she does, THAT won't be posted on MSN. The damage of her actions has been done.

The usual misfits will have a tough time making this "outrage" stick. When South Sudan, the oil rich part, decided to secede from Sudan proper it was greeted as democracy in action. (because our financial sector gets to suck to life blood out of it)
To now squeal at the same thing happening in Crimea is hypocrisy in action. The Crimeans and Russians have a recent legal precedent (Sudan) to present to the whining, privileged elites of corpsetocracies.
