    How Wolves.....Change Rivers!

When wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park in the United States after being absent nearly 70 years, the most remarkable "trophic cascade" occurred. What is a trophic cascade and how exactly do wolves change rivers? George Monbiot explains in this movie remix.

    Great find, Russ.

And another great example of when we leave nature alone, it takes care of itself.

We had a wolf-huskie mix once, named Kiska. I can't tell you the bond that was created between us. Have had other dogs and pets, and I always create strong bonds with all of them, but nothing compared to Kiska. She and I actually shared several mental telepathy experiences.

Wonderful Russ! Thank you so much. Is this why the native Americans have such respect for wolves? Did they know of this? There is so much ignorance in the 'modern' world. I live in an area where hunters do not know what they are doing and the local politicians bow to their needs. Fortunately, in the centre of Italy, e.g. Tuscany magnificent woods and forests are left in their natural state and they are incredibly beautiful. In Abruzzo they've been reintroducing wolves and bears and I know now that it isn't just a romantic love of animals which has generated these projects but also a knowledge of how mother nature works.
