Thank you. There is a joyous feeling to building an amp that sounds better than what I have played through. Getting new parts for a permanent build with the correct, and larger, power tube.

Tomorrow is the likely arrival date for those parts.

My Champ is back together with a new output transformer and an 8 ohm speaker with a bigger magnet. But a not too bright cap in to give me treble that can be rolled off if unwanted.

The name of the amp is Primog.




Bassmog is on the bench to be brought to life as my bass amp. The chassis to hold it all together is at the top of the picture. Power tranformer is on lower right and output transformer on the lower left. In between are two power tubes. The one on the right, a 6L6GT was the one used to try out the concept and amp voicing. The tube on the left is the more powerful and meaty KT66 going into the amp.

Work begins this night.

My first amp build without a kit with all of the parts needed included. More parts needed to be ordered, and received, and the work progesses. The minutiae and small stuff of DIY amp building.

It is my first time using a diode rectifier instead of a tube in that position. With the tube needed on hand if the rectifier does not work out.
