Been a really lovely winters day, today, here. I took advantage of being taken shopping for 2 hours, by going to a big garden nursery to browse. I do get a gardening catalogue from a bulb seller from Victoria, but since we can't water enough it hardly seems OK to plant much this this year, but I can mulch and feed what is there and hope for the best. I have a love of bulbs, they are very generous in producing more and more every year, producing lovely clumps in no time, and if looked after, give me great joy with their flowers.
There are 10 units in our small Close, for aged people on their own, who need public housing, that is more or less flat, few steps and the very handy things like handles close to the toilet and in the shower. We each have 4 rooms, all small, kitchen, bathroom, lounge and bedroom, but outside we have a front and back porch, and front and back garden area. As well as this we have quite a large number of gardens considered to be communal, for all of us to use, but since my neighbour and I are the only 2 interested in keeping them looking good. I saved as much as I could from Lithgow, which I am hoping this year might at long last get back to their prime. At the moment, I have someone come once a week to help me for an hour to help me tidy, and water, and soon start spreading, all that mulch etc I bought today.
