Cannot say I am unhappy with the decline of USA as a power in the world. Maybe them foreigners will leave us the fuck alone to settle our matters.

Outside opinions are not welcome at this time.

One cannot experience what is going on here in Turtle Island from news clips and TV.

The global nonesense is worldwide and everyone in any country has an adversary, called gooberment.

    Power is local.

    Yeah, I agree.

I make this point often on the Collapse thread. The future is slated to be intensely local, rather than global. Globalisation and its political equivalent, globalism, is dead. We'll all be preoccupied with local matters in the future and will probably have to concentrate on the mundane details of survival, like growing our own food and re-establishing our local economies on a local scale, once the global supply chains and with it global giants that dominate commerce and manufacturing currently, go away.

News, New Age latest news, and the theories of this or that, are a lot like water. Some is very good for maintaining health and some is fluoridated or contaminated.

Knowing the difference, and then giving a shit/caring about what we put into ourselves, alters personal reality.

Examples of the effect of this on our collective psyche abound. On the internet and real life bleed-through.

I agree, and I will add ─ perhaps you feel the same ─ that I have become very disappointed with this so-called "alternative community" over the past couple of years, to the point that I'm feeling embarrassed enough to not want to tell anyone anymore that I'm a member of this "community". Seriously, I'm not kidding.

To be blunt, the only reason I'm still here is because Malc has entrusted me with the administration and day-to-day management of this forum. There's a big responsibility resting on my shoulders, because if I were to walk away from it all, then that would by definition be the end of The One Truth. I'm the only one on the team who understands the vBulletin forum engine; I even understand it better than Malc himself, because I'm the one who tweaked (and still tweaks) everything, and I'm also the only one on the team who knows and uses GNU/Linux, which not only powers my own computers but also the forum itself.

Not to bring politics into this thread ─ let us please not go there ─ but if you remember, back in 2017, I was warning this so-called "alternative community" about an obvious infiltration and imminent takeover by the US American alt-right movement. We spoke about this in one of the TOTcasts ─ specifically, the one in which we discussed (the late) Robert David Steele and his signing up for membership at Project Avalon. And alt-right or alt-left, the fact is that this forum ─ as well as Project Avalon ─ has indeed been mostly talking about US-centric politics anymore in the last four to five years, starting with Donald Trump's electoral campaign back in 2016.

So then I wonder: is this really what it means to be "alternative"? And are those Love & Light™ people really so shallow and so hollow that they can easily swing from tree-hugging onto a foaming-at-the-mouth hatred for anything that even remotely reeks of a possibly left-wing outlook on life, and into seeing communist baby-eating satanic reptilian shapeshifters from the 137th dimension everywhere? And of course, "everywhere" translates into "within the United States of America", because apparently the news that there is yet other intelligent life on Planet Earth hasn't reached the American alt-right population yet.

Instead of finding enlightenment, this so-called "alternative community" has descended deep into the abyss of anti-intellectualism that has always been so typical for US American consumerist culture ─ the political right and alt-right passionately hate intellectualism because of some bizarre mental correlation in their craniums between intellectualism and socialism/communism, while the US American political left regards itself as an intellectual elite and thinks that their neurotic thought policing is what grants them the right to call themselves intellectuals.

To my eyes, this so-called community ─ and as we've talked about before, it should actually be called an audience, rather than a community ─ has become only but a caricature of itself anymore. The only cavalry that's coming to save us is ─ and has always been ─ us, but now, instead of simply not seeing that we have to change our ways in order to save ourselves, we're not even smart enough to ride the proverbial horse anymore. There is no more Love & Light™ within this "alternative community" ─ if there ever genuinely was ─ than there is in the mainstream world; perhaps even less so.

And that is a very sad thing, not to mention that it defeats all hope for the future.

I am working on a song titled, "It's Not Our Glory". Two verses of three are written and the recurring chorus is too.

One of two bridges is written and it deals with online 'communities' and especially online chats and and texts.

    "Online conversations,
    mastubation, lacrimation.
    Or, going for the throat.
    Sometimes I wonder whether,
    if they all got together,
could they even sail a boat,
    stay afloat?"

I chose sailing as my metaphor because a sailboat requires cooperation and at least a few competent people willing and able to do what needs to be done.

Talk is cheap with regards to sailing a boat.

Since well basicalllly since 2016 Trump beginnings, we have all weathered a massive storm, imo a storm of the cycle 2525 years and other cycles, the boat be afloat still, sails still work, oars if needed, atm imo a flotilla ( maybe related to atilla lol ) of boats are bumping and jostling as wind is picking up, whispers of OH that was the EYE, Imagine not knowing what is coming, what has been happening unawares, all is well, all is calm, between travelllls death between breath, ahoy we find thyselves only with Next.

And that, right there, is one of the major problems with this world, in my not so humble opinion. On the one hand there are those who are willing ─ read "eager" ─ to lead, but who are actually incompetent and only interested in their own career as leaders. And they are also more than willing to "do what it takes", but only insofar as it serves their own agenda(s).

On the other hand, there are also those who are competent and who've got their hearts in the right place, but generally, these are not the people who throw themselves up as wannabe leaders, simply because they're not interested in fame, glory, a reputation or a selfish career. Furthermore, in the event that these particular people would be willing to assume the responsibility, the above-mentioned category of people will be adamant to make their lives miserable and sabotage their efforts, because the self-appointed elites don't share and don't tolerate any "competition".

I have worked for the authorities here in Belgium ─ at both the municipal and federal levels ─ and I have also very briefly been a supporting member of a somewhat alternative political party. I've seen from up close how the system works, and how the barracudas make sure that nothing will drive them out of power.

It was leaked out to the press a number of years ago how the three major political factions in this country ─ i.e. the socialists (who aren't really socialist), the Christian-democrats (who aren't really Christian) and the Keynesian liberals (who are only interested in businesses) ─ were already making coalition agreements and dividing offices between themselves for the next administration before there had even been elections. And one of the official rules they had come up with for safeguarding their presence in power was a new decree, which states that a political party must gather a minimum of 5% of all votes in order to be allowed to have members in parliament.

The party I briefly was a member of did not make that threshold, which is why the party leadership decided to allow itself to become assimilated into the green party, which in turn carries more weight and generally gathers more votes. For myself, this willful assimilation into the green party had a scent of moral corruption to it, even though the green party does pursue many of the same ideals as the original party that I was a member of. It was either way enough of a political maneuver for me to turn my back on politics. It's all rotten to the core, regardless of what party you put under the microscope.

One other small party of the same era did however make it into government, and is now one of the two biggest parties in the Flemish region. But this is a very authoritarian party ─ even more authoritarian than the socialists, the Christian-democrats and the Keynesian liberals ─ and it is a decisively conservative party, farther to the right than the Christian-democrats. Among other things ─ and this is actually said party's primary objective ─ they are Flemish-nationalists and they strive for Flemish independence. Many of their members have come over from the far-right party, which, because of its racism, will not be allowed into a coalition at the regional level with any of the existing traditional parties; they do have an absolute majority at the municipal level in certain towns, so things are different there.

Because of the migration of these former far-right party members to the more traditional Flemish-nationalist party, the political climate here in the Flanders has shifted far more to the right and towards more authoritarianism, whereas in the Walloon region, the political climate is a lot more libertarian and more center-left-leaning. As a result, the last federal elections were an absolute joke. It took over 540 days since the elections before they were able to put together a federal government, given that the Flemish and francophone parties had (and still have) completely juxtaposed objectives.

Anyway, I didn't mean to derail this thread onto the subject of politics. I only meant to illustrate why the people most likely to be found in leadership positions are the ones who least deserve to occupy said positions, and how they've got their own kind of immunity response in place to make sure that they, and only they, are the ones to occupy a leadership role.

Now, if you compare all of the above to the situation here at The One Truth, then what we have here is actually the exact opposite scenario. If a moderator or an administrator is to be seen as a person in a position of power, then none of the current staff members ─ myself included ─ have volunteered themselves up for the job, and yet we all have the longest service on record on this forum. All of the staff members of the past had volunteered themselves up for the job, and they've all stepped down again one by one, either because the responsibility was too heavy for them to bear, or because they didn't posses the competence and wisdom, or because they had other agendas.

Everyone who's still on the team now ─ if we exclude Malc (because he's the founder), then that is Dreamtimer, Wind and myself ─ are people who care, and who are motivated towards doing The Right Thing™. Up until recently we still had yet two other staff members, but they both eventually showed to be lacking the motivation and the required sense of responsibility, so they were let go.

That all said, even I will admit that this forum is dying. We are now down to an average of only 20 distinct registered members visiting the forum over a period of 30 days, but two days ago, the number actually stood at 19, which is a record all-time low. And that then brings me back to this so-called "alternative community" not really being a community, but instead just being an audience in search of entertainment, and probably feeling more at home on Youtwittagramface™ than here.

Another thing is that people don't actually have any discussions anymore. Instead, they simply post links to articles from opinionated talking heads, or they quote articles from such opinionated talking heads, or else they just post videos from opinionated talking heads, expecting everyone to have enough time on their hands to watch a monetized three-hour video. Again, just goes to show they're not here to discuss but to be entertained.

How very alternative ─ not! It's disgusting.

Sorry, Rad ─ I didn't mean to monopolize this thread. I guess I just needed to vent rant. Frustration brings that out in me. I usually keep it bottled up, but when the pressure keeps building up, then eventually the cap is going to pop off at some point.

Excellent metaphor, Modwiz. I learned to sail on a very small sailboat and have been out on some bigger ones. Teamwork and reliance on each other is crucial.

Fortunately I missed the trip through nasty storms to the Bahamas. It was epic. I would have been sick the whole time, but working anyway because that's how it goes.

Youtwittagramface™ Awesome, Aragorn. That is now my favorite, along with Faceborg.

It is a synchronicity that you mention the above about lack of discussion because that was on my mind as well. Specifically the use of the opinions of other talking heads to make a point that the poster chosses to not state for themselves. For me that would be videos on the topic of the day, week or month. Posting articles allows me to scan quickly and decide whether to read it in full. I loved the article about the culture of the Pashtuns, Pashtunwali. Like most ancient/archaic cultures, the concept of jail is anathema to them. Freedom is precious to a truly free people. Banishment or death was how sociopaths and and psychopaths were handled. Not a death penalty, per se, bound and executed. Hunting cultures would take a stinker out and they would have a 'hunting accident'.

Pashtuns released all from prison because of their olde traditions. Besides, if anybody 'needs killin' they should die free.

With Dane Calloway videos. He has spent thousands of dollars, and hours, researching a topic he is a genetic part of. His videos allow him to share his research. Not to mention, my comments on the subject could well be inappropriate. He discusses a topic, slavery, that is best left to those who have not been able to be heard. And, I find him very competent.

Very good comment about the majority of those seeking leadership positions.

Happy you found a thread you could vent. Go ahead and "Vent in the Tent". It was always a digital space for a member to find an ear and maybe get feedback.

The second video demonstrates his command of his topic.
