    Well, happy to read that.

What the Earth provides and what the world of gooberments produces are realities that can be parsed with skill.

I have the (dramatized) movie here on my computer. Of course, being a movie, it goes into some wild speculation and some unnecessary gore, but it does help in (more or less) understanding what may have transpired there. It's a movie in the "found footage" style, similar to "The Blair Witch".

I'd be willing to share it via WeTransfer or something, if anyone's interested.

it's funny that you suggested that because...I have an HD tv out of the box that has never been used...I was thinking about shipping it to you...but I'm afraid that might cost more than the TV (I got it free when I bought some furniture) ... You did say you don't even have a TV didn't you? Everybody's got to have a TV...

I appreciate the offer, but yes, it would cost you more to ship it than it has cost you to buy it. In addition to that, North America uses NTSC and Europe uses PAL, so that would never work. And then there's the power supply. The USA uses 110 Volt at 60 Hz, and Europe uses 230 Volt at 50 Hz.

Also, I do actually own a TV ─ it's a (now 19-year old) Loewe in the 16:9 format, even though it's still a (massive) CRT and the screen surface is not flat ─ but I have canceled my cable TV subscription because I'm not watching TV anymore. If I want to see a movie or a TV series, then I'll just watch it here at my computer. And it'll be a movie or a series I've already watched several times before, but that's okay.

What a strange world we live in. I happen to live in the town of Floyd, Virginia. So the 'Floyd' protests triggered by the killing of a man with the last name of Floyd has a strange resonance where I live.

We have a woman that owns a house here and she just came down from NYC where she has an apartment and a business. Needless to say, her business is not flourishing and she is now thinking she might be retired.

She was very pleased to find out all of her friends in Floyd still hug each other. She had some video on her phone with her own capture of the riots in Brooklyn, NY, but none of us were interested. We have no riots in Floyd and there will be none. We are a close-knit community, not a city and we know that that kind of city craziness will never happen here. Plenty of Trump hate in our circles but, nothing to riot over. We love each other too much here.

A real community is something any human will thrive in. Cities have not and, cannot provide that.

Living in a city is not a good idea. Never has been, but there is no longer any ambiguity to the situation. Cities are bad places to live. And, that will be apparent as we move into Correction and a 'Fourth Turning'. There is a Renaissance happening and it is very exciting.

Lester is announcing he will mow his meadow so we can have three days of music and community on his property. He is calling it Meadowstock. And, my 12x13 tent is all ready to go. Already have a friend I offered the other side of my tent to. His name is Ricky and he is another man with two hundred years of family in the area. Matter of fact, as we were talking on the porch of Dogtown, they found out, Ricky and Lester, that they were second cousins.

Both of these men have accepted me as 'family'. Don't get much better than that.

I actually agree with that. The question would be where does a 'community' become a rat race. Small communities have their problems as well, lack of opportunity to thrive, particularly if one is viewed as not part of the whole. I have never lived in a city in my opinion. I lived in Wichita Kansas, where my brother lives now, that had and still has a really nice sense of 'community'. Of course, with all the problems but to a lesser degree than I had experienced in my small town. which was the regional big city of 18,000 people. For the most part, the problems came from all directions, including the 'little' towns surrounding the big one. Communities ranging in size from a couple of hundred to under a thousand. The funniest part is that the small towns and even my hometown would complain that Wichita was nothing more than a big 'cow' town. Everybody can and will find a way to complain about their circumstance.

The one big advantage of cities is a greater acceptance of 'difference' which is why many 'others' choose cities to maintain anonymity from ignorance and fear. Not surprising is that they instill fear and ignorant actions in mainstream society. Just as many mainstreamers prefer small communities where they can 'feel' part of a group. I think it is the level of fear and actually the lack of it that fosters a sense of 'life is good'.

One could launch into the polemics of 'population growth' but I think that is a senseless road to travel. We have to find societal level solutions to the problems that plague us all...Like the current plague.

One of the funniest, yet saddest jokes I've ever heard is Bill Cosby's tale of his childhood, where he was playing a game, and everyone started yelling 'run from the n***er', 'run from the n***er', so he started running like a madman. It wasn't until later that he realized he was the 'n***er'. That is such a tragedy and possibly a permanent blow to one's sense of self and self-esteem. It's a reality, not a perception, not a butt-hurt, not a matter of opinion, it's the plain unadulterated truth.

We got my daughter moved out. It was a momentous occasion. It always is, when one grows up and embarks on their own journey. But especially for this one. She has found a gentle partner who adores her and they take care of each other. Everything is as it should be. I mourned the loss of the child, and celebrated the birth of the beautiful young woman. I would say maiden to mother, but this one chooses not to bring home grandchildren. And that is more than ok with me!

Modwiz, Floyd sounds like life as it should be. I have heard of several communities in the US that are off-grid and thriving. I have even considered moving, but that is not for me to do right now. Small town life is fantastic, I am grateful to be away from the city. I can be a hermit in either case, but the energy in the country allows me to exhale.

Tonight will be music practice. We have a studio time on Saturday, and even though we will be required to jump through hoops in the name of safety (eye roll) I am still looking forward to it.

I am sitting at this laptop, but gazing out the window in front of me. It is sunny today, and warm - around 80F already. The leaves are dancing, so at least there is a breeze. The wasps remind me to appreciate the peace inside, because the pests are ever looming. So, I do. I believe I will spend some time on my mat this morning, cultivating that peace. There's no helping anyone on an empty tank.

    Much Love,
Do not fashion me a maiden who needs saving from the dragons. I am the Dragon. And I will eat you whole.

    Much Love,
Well, Floyd is life as I enjoy it.

Walked to the store tonight about 9:30 PM, with the Moon quite large moving towards the Full Moon on Friday, and fresh mown grass was the scent in the air. Upon my return trip there was a large apple field that was freshly mown but, suffused with the sweet scent of honeysuckle hanging in the almost non-existent breeze on a humid night. I finally had to stop and just breathe it in knowing the scent would not last once I walked past the field. As I moved it seemed as if a slight intoxication had resulted from my olfactory imbibing.

The rest of the walk home was preceded by my Moonshadow in front of me.
