1. Had been doing things for the government since he was 13 years old.
2. Came from a family of inventors on both sides of his family tree.
3. Observed that the education system in the U.S. had deteriorated.
4. Spent 10 years in the Marine Corps, much of it in combat or combat zones.
5. Was concerned that the U.S. was moving away from the Constitution and toward socialism.
