Just the other day I tried a little experiment on this site security. I tried to exploit a common security loophole to bypass some site restrictions. It was covered. So, whoever does the security for the site had that under control. If I had succeeded I was going to let Malc know (My activity might have been reported) so he knew how and why I did it. Just for fun no malicious intent.

For whatever its worth:

I would have preferred you to have privately contacted me before you had intended to do this.

We have a great advanced firewall on this server and your attempt will have been logged I have just not had time to check the logs

I understand but that would have taken all the fun out of it for me. Actually, I have been working for an Azure Cloud Developer Certification and I wanted to see if I had learned anything. Apparently, not enough. Thanks for being gracious about it. I'll let you know in advance if it happens again, but very likely will not.

Any vulnerabilities that we may have had on this site have been patched and as of 09/02/2024 19.44pmm UK showing no issues

yeah, it was kid stuff really. I just logged in from my phone instead of my usual desktop to see if the thread that was closed was accessible. It really is a common oversight though. Securing one form of logging in and forgetting about other platforms like mobile devices. I thought it would be kind of funny if it let me, I was going to leave you a joking message but at the same time let you know about the security hole. It could be much more serious under other circumstances. It was a little hands on exercise for me and maybe a help to you and the site. I get it though, I am reformed at this point.
