Interesting historical point: When the Nationalist government of Chiang Kai-shek attacked Manchuria to oust the communists and Russians, the U.S. intervened by stopping arms supplies to China. It directly opened the door to Russian-inspired Communism to take over China (1947). Why did the U.S. do this? It is hard to determine because the author is a historian, not a politician or YouTube influencer. But one thing is obvious, The Chinese Nationalist government invaded Manchuria after the Japanese defeat against the wishes of the special advisor from the U.S., General George Marshall. In effect, it seems to me, that because favors were owed to the pre-Cold War Russian ally General Marshall acted this way, it directly ushered in Chinese Communism. Seems truly stupid to me.
