    Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

How U.S. Economic Warfare Provoked Japan’s Attack on Pearl Harbor

Ask a typical American how the United States got into World War II, and he will almost certainly tell you that the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and the Americans fought back. Ask him why the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, and he will probably need some time to gather his thoughts. He might say that the Japanese were aggressive militarists who wanted to take over the world, or at least the Asia-Pacific part of it. Ask him what the United States did to provoke the Japanese, and he will probably say that the Americans did nothing: we were just minding our own business when the crazy Japanese, completely without justification, mounted a sneak attack on us, catching us totally by surprise in Hawaii on December 7, 1941.

You can’t blame him much. For more than 60 years such beliefs have constituted the generally accepted view among Americans, the one taught in schools and depicted in movies—what “every schoolboy knows.” Unfortunately, this orthodox view is a tissue of misconceptions. Don’t bother to ask the typical American what U.S. economic warfare had to do with provoking the Japanese to mount their attack, because he won’t know. Indeed, he will have no idea what you are talking about.

How about Vietnam or the Gulf War? Let alone the Iraq war. War is good for business, bad for civilians.

There's a bit more to that story. Hussein was informed that the US had no opinion on what happened between Iraq, and Kuwait:

    Shifting Price of Oil

TARIQ AZIZ: Our policy in OPEC opposes sudden jumps in oil prices.

HUSSEIN: Twenty-five dollars a barrel is not a high price.

GLASPIE: We have many Americans who would like to see the price go above $25 because they come from oil-producing states.

HUSSEIN: The price at one stage had dropped to $12 a barrel and a reduction in the modest Iraqi budget of $6 billion to $7 billion is a disaster.

GLASPIE: I think I understand this. I have lived here for years. I admire your extraordinary efforts to rebuild your country. I know you need funds. We understand that and our opinion is that you should have the opportunity to rebuild your country. But we have no opinion on the Arab-Arab conflicts, like your border disagreement with Kuwait.

I was in the American Embassy in Kuwait during the late 60's. The instruction we had during this period was that we should express no opinion on this issue and that the issue is not associated with America. James Baker has directed our official spokesmen to emphasize this instruction. We hope you can solve this problem using any suitable methods via Klibi or via President Mubarak. All that we hope is that these issues are solved quickly. With regard to all of this, can I ask you to see how the issue appears to us?

My assessment after 25 years' service in this area is that your objective must have strong backing from your Arab brothers. I now speak of oil But you, Mr. President, have fought through a horrific and painful war. Frankly, we can see only that you have deployed massive troops in the south. Normally that would not be any of our business. But when this happens in the context of what you said on your national day, then when we read the details in the two letters of the Foreign Minister, then when we see the Iraqi point of view that the measures taken by the U.A.E. and Kuwait is, in the final analysis, parallel to military aggression against Iraq, then it would be reasonable for me to be concerned. And for this reason, I received an instruction to ask you, in the spirit of friendship -- not in the spirit of confrontation -- regarding your intentions.

    And then...

CONSPIRACY FACT: Teenage Kuwaiti Girl Lied to Congress About Iraqi Atrocities to Manipulate Public Support for a Gulf War

Nayirah Al-Ṣabaḥ, dubiously dubbed “Nurse Nayirah,” was a 15-year-old Kuwaiti actress who alleged that she had witnessed the murder of infant children by Iraqi soldiers in Kuwait. Providing only her first name, Nayirah gave false testimony on Oct. 10, 1990, to a sycophant assembly, the Congressional Human Rights Caucus of the U.S. Congress, that completely failed to vet her beforehand.

In her emotional performance, Nayirah stated that after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, she had witnessed Iraqi soldiers take babies out of incubators in a Kuwaiti hospital, take the incubators and leave the babies on the floor to die.

    Here’s her testimony.

It was later revealed that Nayirah was in fact the daughter of Saud Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti ambassador to the United States. Her testimony, which was regarded as credible at the time, is now regarded as lying wartime atrocity propaganda.

Why did the US do this? It suddenly found itself the sole superpower (the unipole) in the world, there was a new sheriff in town, and like Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it was time to demonstrate "DON'T FUCK WITH US". Someone had to be the fall guy, be the crash test dummy for our new precision weaponry.

In hindsight, it was simple enough to find "the reason", just tell our boy Sadaam he's AOK, and he'll give it to us on a silver platter.

The hard part, was selling the reason to the American public on why we had to go to war. I well remember the incubator story. It enraged me, it enraged everyone I knew, it enraged the entire nation. It worked. It left us practically begging to go to war with the new Hitler.

There always has to be a reason for conquest to sell the people. A blown up naval vessel in Havana Harbor worked quite nicely in 1898. Always did, always does, looks like always will.

I saw a comment on some video saying that US with the Saudis secretly decided to raise the oil prices and that was economic warfare against Iraq, which made Saddam react too? I don't know how true that is or not as I haven't studied it more. First Donald Rumsfeld was shaking hands with Saddam and then he became the enemy. Certain things are okay for USA, others not. It was Donald Rumsfeld who sold Saddam the weapons of mass destruction — specifically, chemical weapons — that Saddam used for murdering the Curds in the North of Iraq in the 1980s. Just as the USA is now selling — or donating? — cluster bombs to Mr. "Too Much Is Never Enough" Zelenskyy.

It's like watching a cartoon about the inmates of a mental hospital. Putin thinks he's Peter the Great, Zelenskyy is Volodomir the Ingrate, and the United States of Dumb, Dumber & Dumbest proclaims itself the purveyor of world peace from the tabletops while at the same time supplying the filthiest of weapons to keep the two of them fighting.

You just can't make this stuff up.

Biden calls China ‘ticking time bomb’, says ‘bad folks… do bad things’

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden ominously called China a “ticking time bomb,” warning “bad folks” can “do bad things,” according to a pool report of the Thursday fundraiser.

The full context of Biden’s menacing forecast was not clear, though the pool report said he noted China’s high unemployment and aging population.

“When bad folks have problems, they do bad things,” Biden said at the Park City, Utah, home of Mark Gilbert, a former US ambassador to New Zealand and Samoa.

The 80-year-old president also said he wanted to have a “rational relationship with China,” declaring “I don’t want to hurt China, but I’m watching,” according to the pool report.

So I couldn't tell. Putin is said to only go after targets like old folks homes, apartment buildings, hospitals, shopping malls, schools, and of course daycare centers. Do we know the manner in which Ukrainian children were taken care of, in this case?

Like for instance was this the children's cancer wing of a hospital that got blown up, with terrified children watching on as an added bonus? Was that missile intended for these children in the foreground, but missed? Or something else along those lines?

I don't know, only the ones aiming those missiles would know. Russian doctrine of terror bombings isn't anything new though.

Of course, the whole world knows that it's common knowledge. That's why they've banded together in unison to fight these mindless barbarians down to the last Ukrainian, if that's what it takes.

I was just wondering if we had any specifics on this latest targeting of children.

Russia has a doctrine of terror and Putin is evil.

All the specifics emotionally centered people need.

The water of emotion cannot support the fire of intellect.

I will be relieved when this conflict ends.

There are even more casualties in the psychological realm than on the actual battlefied.

World War 3 has other opportunities developing in Asia and Africa.

Tori Nuland is hard at work.
