Well, the plan is on the roll. Germany has now caved in under the pressure and has officially decided to send Leopard-2 tanks to Ukraine, and to also allow other countries to do so. And the USA is sending M-1 Abrams tanks.

Speaking of the tanks, and this is yet again another example of this simpleton, unquestioned propaganda barrage. How many of us assume you can just FedEx a bunch of tanks to the front lines, Ukrainian tank crews are waiting ready to take it from there, and that's all there is to it? If you just get your news from msm this is about exactly what you think, but if you take some time and actually listen to people who know what they're talking with these things, those that have the direct hands on experience, a whole other world presents itself.

Brian Berletic of "The New Atlas" was trained on these tanks as a US marine, listening from 17:45-32:40 will lay out some serious problems with rushing these plans:

Unless, may it be tankers other that Ukrainians operating these things once they get there, similar to the Patriot Missile batteries which also require in depth training? The Poles, the US maybe? Trading out uniforms like actors in a Broadway play?

    Questions questions questions...

Chris Hedges is always an interesting listen, this one no exception. His descriptions of the final days of empires in general are coming into full view now, for those relative few with nonindoctrinated eyes to see it. Like desperate gamblers continually doubling down in trying to regain what has been lost.

Same with Gonzalo Lira. IMO this is an invaluable synopsis of the grand chessboard, Gonzalo covers the chronological events that have unfolded since the collapse of the Soviet Union which have us to today's all out war in Ukraine (and soon to be elsewhere as well in the wake of a collapsing empire). He's lived in Kharkiv since 2018 so has had a front row seat of unfolding events, and this is an hour very well spent of him putting all the pieces together.

A big picture sort of unbiased report. My highest recommendation:

Lira is on the top of my list of "Ugly Truths" people, part of my daily news browse. AND he says Kiev correctly. News outlets and anchors in America often don't which gives you some insight into how much our Ukranian media experts know.

My only issue with Lira is his blatant schadenfreude, which can be difficult for some to countenance. I think his message is cogent and adds to comprehending the situation through the fog of war.

Mercouris is so careful it is almost tedious.

Lira dicusses the impotence of the West. A term I have used.

IMO, the greatest impotence is in the diplomatic realm.

The West has proved, through public statements, that it cannot be trusted.

That leaves only the battlefied for this to be settled. The most tumescent will win.

    Pretty fucked up situation.

Here is Lira on the topic.

A little gallows humor as the sacrificial body count continues to rise, the neocons would just assume luxuriate in the blood and misery.

All due respect to the dead, and the soon to be. In the cartoon, Wile E. is not sparking off another world war like a child playing with matches in a tinder box...

Lira isn't American and has no loyalty or concern for the US government. He has a very good understanding and distinction between the government and the people. He has a grasp on American nationalism as not being neo Nazism which is more than I can say for anyone else. Americans should exhibit some loyalty to their nation but that loyalty is always misdirected into party politics, polarization and popular presidents which is exactly the opposite of what was intended and ended up having the opposite effect of what authentic loyalty would have resulted in: Not being in this mess and the subsequent messes before it.

Still Lira isn't the only one harboring a certain glee at the thought of the US getting its ass handed to it.

I know plenty of Americans who do. And myself feel like the entire system has to collapse but I don't particularly relish the result nor expect much from it in the aftermath. People here and abroad will still fall under the same inertia that has brought us to this point. Nor did anyone in the West hide their glee at having Germany apparently having its ass handed to it, nor Japan but in the end that didn't result in a brave new future for anyone.

I see it all over the place from media, media pundits and social media. The nation itself is not entirely unredeemable but the society seems to be collapsing faster than the government and the government is beyond the point of no return. I don't think there's anyone who doesn't relish the idea of karma, justice or whatever being served by either Russia, China or both which is almost a certainty. America might, maybe be able to fend off a home invasion but we will not win a hot conflict in the Balkans --hence the proxy war. Nor anywhere else.

But I get your point. Be careful what you wish for and the manner you wish it because the effect may not have been what one envisioned. It may directly and adversely affect the chortling folks here and abroad in ways unseen.

America could collapse today, and it still wouldn't magically fix everything.

Whilst that is indeed true, consider that without all of the meddling and warmongering, the planet could and would recover sooner, rather than later.
