I don't think it's something you can externally recognize as we all look more or less human here, only a person themselves might know it.

Most of humans don't know what they have been before as that's not relevant information to their current lifetime.

Or if it is then they will know or seek to know it...

This is honestly hard to watch. Even though I know 'how it turns out'. The march towards doom is so deliberate at times.

I've seen Cleopatra (with Rex Harrison, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor) when I was a teenager, and the dialogues were all as Shakespearean as it gets. That, and the duration of the movie ─ 4 hours! ─ made watching it into quite an ordeal.
