I would think PA's forum traffic has subsided below its heyday, no?
No, certainly not. Or at least, definitely not while I was a staff member there. There were multiple new registrations every day, and their number of active members ─ i.e. the number of distinct member accounts who've logged on over the past 30 days ─ currently stands at 720. Ours stands at 30, but it has gone up again, because two weeks ago it stood at 25, or maybe even less than that.

I don't think Bill would be doing it for the donations, nor do I think that he'd be aware of the far-reaching consequences of the radicalizing. But yes, Project Avalon has become a self-reinforcing echo chamber for the radicalized, and that's exactly why I left there in a hurry late in 2020. It made me feel dirty. I didn't and still don't want to be part of that.
We can agree on that one.
And somehow said forum owner is oblivious to all that. Yet again.....
Well, I can only report on what I've heard from the horse's mouth when I was a staff member there, and it was my distinct impression that Bill is in denial regarding the true nature of the (overt or covert) far-right sympathies of his (most vocal) forum members.
Bill considers himself a libertarian, and he was once shocked when I brought up the term "alt-right" on the Discord chat. He said something along the lines of "WTF is alt-right???" So I pulled up the Wikipedia page and pasted the link, and I don't know whether you've ever used Discord, but it does live rendering when you paste a link or upload an image, and so it also included a Wikimedia photo in the link, with people waving a neo-Nazi banner. And then Bill was quick to dismiss that, and to deny that his flock would have had anything to do with fascism ─ and I'm loosely quoting him now ─ "barring a few isolated individuals." He was adamant that the Project Avalon population is merely made up of people who cherish their freedom and liberties and who are "opposed to the globalism of the NWO" ─ or something along those lines.
So I don't know about you, but to me, that sounds like a man in denial.
By the way, Fred, I just got an error message when I was posting this...:
"Fred Steeves has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space."
Would you mind engaging in some housecleaning?
