This forum has been (slowly) dying for a long time already Vern, and there are multiple reasons for that, none of which have anything to do with how we're running the forum...:

    • Some may leave because they can't handle the truth ─ and I'm not talking of the "truths" that you think you are posting, but rather the opposite, i.e. the fact that a lot of the prejudices and false opinions so cherished by this so-called alternative community are being debunked here.

    • Some may leave because they have surrendered to (US-)political bigotry and the Trump/Qanon mania that has been going on here among certain members who shall not be named, and which is sadly enough still very strong over at Project Avalon.

    • Some may leave exactly because of the bigotry and/or the focus on US-political topics.

    • Some may leave because instead of having any actual discussions, people are only posting videos anymore, often without any comments of their own. And if there is any response to those videos, then it's usually in the form of a one-liner that pretty much ends the thread's viability. Except when it's a thread about US politics, of course.

    • Some may leave ─ and have already done so before ─ simply because The One Truth doesn't get as much traffic and/or attention as Project Avalon and similarly large forums.

As an example, after I chose to share the extraordinary experiences I had after Kelly's death with Bill Ryan ─ whom I still regard as a friend ─ Bill proposed that he would temporarily reactivate my account over at Project Avalon, so that I could expound those experiences over there as well, because he too was completely flabbergasted and intrigued by my recount of those experiences. And as most of you will know by now, I have indeed accepted Bill's offer, on the condition that the thread remain under the members-only section of their forum, just as we've done here.

Meanwhile, said thread ─ by which I mean the one over at Project Avalon, not the original one I started here at The One Truth ─ appears to have run its course. My last post on that thread ─ and it is at the time of my writing this post here also the last post of the thread ─ dates back to the 21st of June 2021, which is now six days ago. Meanwhile, other topics have been posted there, and Project Avalon's focus seems to have shifted back onto the subjects of US politics and the usual paranoia-fueled conspiracy theories, and so it won't be long anymore ─ a matter of days, really ─ before I request that Bill put my account over there into retirement again.

But, what's notable in this regard ─ and I don't think this would entirely be due to Project Avalon's much larger member base ─ the opening post of my thread there garnered me "thanks" from 87 members, most of whom I don't even know in person. That's more than I've ever gotten on any post over there ─ even during my time as an administrator there ─ and even my last post on that thread still got me "thanks" from 15 people. Now compare that to how many people have been thanking my posts over here at The One Truth, even going back as far in time as 2015, when I first joined up here.

Most people lose interest in a thread after the first page, and sometimes it doesn't even take them that long. Many don't even read on anymore beyond the first or first two posts. And slightly related to this, eventually all threads ─ at least over here at The One Truth ─ get derailed onto the subject of US-specific politics, even now that Donald Trump ─ as arguably the most controversial president so far that the USA has ever had ─ has already long left the White House. And Project Avalon is rife with US-political threads, but they're also very strict over there with regard to topic integrity, and so if a thread gets derailed, then the "offending" posts are quickly split off and/or merged into a more suitable thread by the moderators, and/or the thread participants will be quickly told to remain on topic. If I do that over here, people simply chuckle ─ smugly, even ─ and then the conversation remains off-topic.

Sometimes I think herding cats would be easier than running a forum. And don't even get me started on the Manjaro forum, where I have to move on average 10 to 15 threads every single day because they've been posted to the wrong forum categories, and where there's always someone hitting the report button on something for some reason.

, even though the topic of this thread here is once again US-centric and political. <sigh>

I think it's a sign of the times and you could say that this current trend started maybe half a decade ago, a lot of it has to do with the maddening political circus revolving around USA and also many people have moved on to other platoforms such as Facebook and other social media. I do have to wonder though, what are people really focusing on these days, especially in the alternative scene?

Are they only really interested in politics (which never really changes anything, at least for the better) or plain old conspiracies? Some things tend to get old after a while. I do keep paying attention to various topics including politics and unfortunately politics tend to affect many things, but overall I would say that there are many far more interesting things out there and for some reason the discussions around them have dried up like wells in Sahara. Do people really just get their dopamine hits from dramatic, fear-porn filled conspiracies?

Of which Bill is helping fan those flames with a fury, and, he has a long history of doing juuuuuuust, that. No worries that it's dangerous (as we've already seen with the January 6th incident), it's freaking people out, poisoning their minds, it's radicalizing them, and is encouraging even more division and fallout with each rising sun. But man oh man, it's surely keeping the donations flowing in from the adoring faithful, who only see the well practiced image of good shepherd sitting high upon the mountain top.

Well, I'll be here to turn out the lights for you Aragorn ... just talk about how forum life sucks and you can always count on Freddie. That's two of us ... Vern is a diehard ... good for him... I would think PA's forum traffic has subsided below its heyday, no?

I don't think Bill would be doing it for the donations, nor do I think that he'd be aware of the far-reaching consequences of the radicalizing. But yes, Project Avalon has become a self-reinforcing echo chamber for the radicalized, and that's exactly why I left there in a hurry late in 2020. It made me feel dirty. I didn't and still don't want to be part of that.

Politically, I am finding myself between a rock and a hard place. Ideally, we would be living in a truly egalitarian and just society ─ and preferably without the concepts of fiat money and inflation ─ where all policies are agreed upon by way of a consensus agreement among all members of society.

But at the same time, I have to painfully admit that the average human intelligence has been dropping so sharply that people simply don't have the mental acuity anymore to (1) consider the needs of anyone other than themselves, (2) assume long-term responsibility over their actions, and (3) be able to put certain things ─ especially the over-hyped neuroticisms such as Inclusive™ language ─ into a proper perspective, with as a result that there has to be a government that makes these decisions for them. And that is of course a vicious circle, because the members of government don't have that mental acuity themselves either, and even worse than that, they are only in politics so as to serve their egos, their sponsors, or both.

The bottom line is that humanity has not only fucked up its past, but that it's also fucking up the present and the future.

There's the old tried and true news axiom if it bleeds it leads. More newspapers would sell with such headlines, and, near as I can see over the last now 10+ years, it's no different for a forum owner who doesn't want to work for a living, only live off of donations. You think "Charles" wasn't sending the cash register a dinging for some time?

That's an age old friendly difference of opinion I've had with a friend of mine for quite some time now, is Bill just not all that bright, and can't ever seem to fathom any possible ramifications of his actions as a leader in the community, over and over and over again over the years? Or, does he know exactly what he's doing, and is very good at his craft of manipulation? Can you guess which argument has always been mine? If I'm correct what we're looking at are signs of the grandiose narcissist.

We can agree on that one. And somehow said forum owner is oblivious to all that. Yet again.....

No, certainly not. Or at least, definitely not while I was a staff member there. There were multiple new registrations every day, and their number of active members ─ i.e. the number of distinct member accounts who've logged on over the past 30 days ─ currently stands at 720. Ours stands at 30, but it has gone up again, because two weeks ago it stood at 25, or maybe even less than that.

Well, I can only report on what I've heard from the horse's mouth when I was a staff member there, and it was my distinct impression that Bill is in denial regarding the true nature of the (overt or covert) far-right sympathies of his (most vocal) forum members.

Bill considers himself a libertarian, and he was once shocked when I brought up the term "alt-right" on the Discord chat. He said something along the lines of "WTF is alt-right???" So I pulled up the Wikipedia page and pasted the link, and I don't know whether you've ever used Discord, but it does live rendering when you paste a link or upload an image, and so it also included a Wikimedia photo in the link, with people waving a neo-Nazi banner. And then Bill was quick to dismiss that, and to deny that his flock would have had anything to do with fascism ─ and I'm loosely quoting him now ─ "barring a few isolated individuals." He was adamant that the Project Avalon population is merely made up of people who cherish their freedom and liberties and who are "opposed to the globalism of the NWO" ─ or something along those lines.

So I don't know about you, but to me, that sounds like a man in denial.

By the way, Fred, I just got an error message when I was posting this...:

I do think that the alt-righters have a point, even if they are crazy paranoid and exaggarate things out of proportion.

Take the white genocide meme for instance.

Obviously, no such thing is happening, but what is undeniable is the self-hatred and slow suicide of the West. There also seems to be an agenda in Left-Wing circles to elect a new people, because they don't like the current mostly white electorate, thinking them too conservative, or as they put it, racist, sexist and homophobic for their taste.

There is now a veritable culture war raging in Europe, mostly between the liberal west and the conservative central and eastern half of the continent, which in some ways mirrors the red-blue divide in the US.

I could write a lot about this topic, but I decided not to, because I would mostly be on my own with my arguments and it doesn't fit with the general consensus on this forum.

PA on the other hand takes it too far in the other direction and I can't stand the pervasive atmosphere of Conspiracy-minded Paranoia that has taken hold over there. I still remember the good old times when I was accused of being and infiltrator working for some unnamed intelligence agency...

It would be nice if we could find some common middle ground.

Anybody remember Topic of Topics. I got booted from there because the Mega-brains running around there thought I still needed a cookie or crayons (don't remember which) because I was so clueless. Well, I'm getting the last laugh ... It's been about 6 years ago now that I told them to watch and wait. I wonder if they're capable of embarrassment. I doubt it very seriously...

This is an international phenomenon and I can't help but think that the magicians behind the scenes, helped feed the divide to keep the majority weak and to advance a pro-corporate anti- egalitarian globalist agenda.

Nap, what is topic of topics?
A really vapid forum ... The topic of topics was "You're stupid and I'm a genius" It was no coincidence that they talked about crayons and cookies ... They were a group of children intellectually and psychologically.
