Super Strict Lockdown

Hey all, thought this might be of interest. I live in South Australia and yes, we’re known for our super creative state names.

We recently experienced a coronavirus cluster here and after what happened with Victoria, decided to take a super strict, hit it early and hit it hard approach.

Government announced a week long lockdown starting 12pm Wednesday night. All schools and childcare centres were closed except for the children of essential workers. All businesses were closed except for grocery stores and bottle shops. No restaurants or takeaways allowed to stay open. GPs were to stay open but dentists only in an emergency. All nursing and other care homes were completely locked down.

We were told not to leave our homes except for one person who could leave to go shopping or provide care or assistance to another and should wear masks.

At lunchtime Friday, it’s been announced that we can now leave our homes to exercise as long as we maintain social distance and wear masks. We can exercise with our household members.

All restrictions will be lifted from midnight Saturday and children can return to school Monday.

Thought this was an interesting experiment and keen to see how would it go. Happy to see it worked.

We can't seem to get our heads on straight here in the states. The denial is so bad that some folks in the hospital who are dying from the virus still don't believe it. As they experience it.
