Our very Woke™ and ostensibly pro-LGBTQ+ government-sponsored news media over here have — of course — also reported on this matter, and they are adamant that Imane is neither a transgender nor an intersexual, but only based upon the statements of the International Olympic Committee. They did also write that Imane was disqualified earlier for having failed the gender test based upon a too high level of testosterone. However, what they did not mention was that Imane has XY chromosome pairs — perhaps they didn't know this yet and they were merely being all too eager to quickly defend someone who may or may not be a genetic female.

Either way, if Imane truly has XY chromosomes, then Imane is biologically a male, regardless of whether she was born with female genitalia — in which case she will also have (less prominent and usually internal) male genitalia, and then she would indeed categorize as intersexual/androgynous. From the purely scientific vantage, there are no female mammals with XY chromosome pairs — it simply does not exist. Human beings (and other mammals) can have either XY, XX, XO, or yet other chromosome pairs — people with Down Syndrome actually have chromosome triplets instead of pairs — but if they have the chromosome pairs of one gender and the outwardly visible genitalia of the opposite gender, then they are indeed intersexuals.

As an aside, I find it quite funny that the LGBTQ+ crowd has begun rejecting the denominations "homosexual" and "bisexual" — homosexual males must be called "gay", homosexual females must be called "lesbians", and bisexuals must now be called "non-binary" — while they're still using the somewhat disrespectful term "intersex(ual)". I would simply call those people "androgynous".

Now, I don't want to turn this into a political matter, and I am fairly certain that neither Angela nor Imane would wish to go there either — as El Grande says, they are both merely athletes competing in a combat sport. I also feel that any hatred towards or allegations of a purported aggression toward women on account of Imane are gratuitous, uncalled for and abject — and one doesn't have to be a genius to know where such hatred and allegations are coming from, of course.

But sadly enough, matters such as these only fuel the already ongoing battle between the vocal pro-LGBTQ+ crowd on the one hand, and the foaming-at-the-mouth far-righters on the other hand. The athletes themselves don't even have any say in that. It'll be milked out in the sensationalist media either way, and this sort of thing has already long become politically weaponized.

However, that all said, if it is indeed true that Imane is genetically male and thus either a transgender or an intersexual, then this fight should never have been allowed to take place, and then Imane should not be allowed into female boxing competitions, because of the obvious unfair biological advantage.
